Now this is a stat that was sorely missed. Still lots of improvement to be made, but it's a start!

I like what I saw Saturday, over all. Especially on defense. Rebuilding year, but if we can keep him as our coach for at least 3-4 years he will have us back and on our way where we need to be. Missed Saturday, but will be there this week.

I hope Koening knows how to defend the option better than JR and Bolt. I fully expect him to. Got to get penetration from our DL, that's the key

Now this is a stat that was sorely missed. Still lots of improvement to be made, but it's a start! That is just so encouraging! I'm really hopeful that our defense can find a way to contain these guys this weekend. If I understand correctly, this opposing offense we'll be facing this week runs something very similar to the triple option that I know has plagued us in the past. If so, despite the fact that they are an FCS team, they should be an interesting challenge for out defense. I will be there in cardinal! Go TROY!

Our D is going to be scrappy - for those that were in attendance Saturday you will get this We were down by at least one score maybe 2 - NC State had 1st and Goal at maybe the 3 + or - a yard and we held them the first 3 plays up the middle - they got us on 4th down with a pass in the flats
Point is- they could have given up and quit - they did not - further they were out there pumped because they stopped them- and NC State was no push over rushing the ball IMO
I saw a lot of positives - let's hope we can build on them because if we do - we have a chance to be much much better

I bet Chan can stop that option let's talk about that for the next four hrs..... Didn't get to play for coach Gailey but I played in the offense he installed. I'm sure he knew how to defend it also. My teammates that had played under him thought the world of him. 2-8 when he was hired...8-2, Nat. championship in his two seasons here. That was the original " Rebuilding The Wall"

The D2 coaches and players are a big reason we have a football tradition and I'm dang sick of people who never wore a uniform bashing them. Yes, Troy values every supporter. But looking down on D2 days is not cool. So keep sticking up for your tailgate buddies, I guess you feel the same way. Men like Gailey, Rhodes, Horstead, Turk, Thomas and others set the ground work and established a tradition, but I guess it wasn't D1 so who cares. I feel the same way about the guys that played in the 60's also. All of them helped set tradition.

Coaches are subject to ridicule on here per the Rowell, Bolt, and Blakeney bashers over the past years. We can't have a double standard now can we? If Chan has been offended by a post on this board, and it bothers him enough, he can log in and defend himself. I doubt he cares what a message board poster on a Troy board has to say. You haven't seen me bash any former players. Out of curiosity what is the difference in some people on here mocking the D2 days and you mocking players with long hair, an undersized center from a few years ago, or juco players? I don't like that guy anyway. He tries to bring Bologna Bowls to the tailgates.

I don't like that guy anyway. He tries to bring Bologna Bowls to the tailgates. Gailey did what he hired to do...Rowell and Bolt did not. Ridiculing a coach who won a national championship?? If that makes one feel like a big man...have at it. Voicing a opinion on long hair is not mocking them. I don't agree with the long hair, do I still root for those players? Yes. I did not agree with the juco route as a fix that failed midserably. Do I still root for them in a game? Yes. Never mocked a undersized center, I voiced a concern at his size. I also said he proved me wrong and complimented him on his toughness. The difference is there are people who look down on anybody that played D2 as being beneath them, when they couldn't have even played D2. That's my point. I respect any player that wears the Troy uniform. I might not condone everything they do, but I respect them.
