The Troy men’s basketball team will travel to face in-state rival UAB today at Bartow Arena. The Trojans (1-1) earned a 102-69 win over LaGrange College on Monday. It was the first career win for head coach Phil Cunningham. Senior Hunter Williams leads Troy in scoring through two games averaging 15 points per game. Williams is followed closely by Antoine ‘Fresh’ Myers with 14 points per contest. Junior newcomer Kevin Thomas is proving to be valuable contributor averaging nine points and 8.5 rebounds.The Trojans are 0-6 all-time versus UAB including a 75-55 defeat last season. Tip is set for 7 p.m.Women host Tennessee State: The Troy women’s basketball team is off to a 2-0 start and will look to become 3-0 to kick off a season for the first time since 2005-06 as the Trojans host Tennessee State at Trojan Arena on Friday.The game will also feature several promotions including free admission for all fans. I'm not expecting a win tonight. This is one of UAB's best team in years. I would love an upset though.
