According to Phil Steele, the Trojans changed their philosophy on offense. They will be closer to 50/50 this season, but the passing percentage should be greater. Getting back to the System will net more yardage and points...all we need is for the defense to improve against the big plays and resist against the TD...we are definitely a bowl contender. www.philsteele.com/Blogs/2015/JUNE15/DBJune20.html

I sure hope you are right... You seem pretty confident Troy will be bowling this year.
I'm holding back my optimism. Still thinking we will be around the 5-7 maybe 6-6 mark. Which would be a nice improvement.

On Tempo:
We were 68th last year in tempo. (plays per game / time between plays / etc) We were 6th in tempo from 2008-2012. (Neal Brown / Kenny Edenfield) Both are on staff. We were at least Top 25 in tempo in 2013 with Corey Robinson, if I recall correctly. Neal Brown's Texas Tech offenses were #1 in the country in tempo.
Last year, in terms of tempo, we were an anomoly. It's not like our kids don't know the spread, or how to play up tempo. This won't be brand new to them.

Tempo has to be established and you're not going to see much with 3 and outs. The box was stacked quite a bit because we weren't stretching the field. Once TROY can be less predictable, we should see gains in tempo, ypg, ypp, and points.

Holmes, more so than the rest, and Edenfield had a few long receptions. They all played in '14 and I can't believe Eric Thomas made them all great by getting double teamed. Holmes was the nations 3rd best deep threat in '13. Something weird happened in '14 with largely the same players from '13. I think it was more than just a few good players graduating. Maybe I'm underestimating Robinson's role in all this. I don't know. I do know Silvers is capable and Holmes and Bentley by all means should be unstoppable. Ruben in his second year and Pruitt taking snaps at inside receiver could be a nasty combination.

Better conditioned team this year and we should see the tempo dramatically faster.

I'm ok with the 2nd, even 3rd team O line getting the game experience, but run them out by series, not during a series.

We burned a year of eligibility on three OL last season using them on FG and PAT. Should have redshirted them and those three would be Sophmores now Also offense of line is critical to build Knowledge of each other. If you look at 2007 two 2009 Danny Franks, Stephen Adams, and Tyler Clark lined up next to each other for three seasons those three new exactly what the other ones were going to be doing
