Kylie MurphyTROY, Alabama – The Troy men's basketball program and head coach Phil Cunningham announced the signing of Daniel Peace, Brandon "B.J." Miller and Jordon Varnado, on Thursday. "We're very excited about the signings of Daniel, Brandon, and Jordon," said Cunningham. "All 3 understand the true definition of being a student-athlete, and all of them come from terrific families. From an athletic standpoint, we're pleased that all of them are products of winning basketball programs. Daniel's team at South Georgia State lost a heartbreaker in the state final to go to the national junior college tournament, and he also played for one of the winningest programs in the state of Georgia at Jonesboro High. Brandon played for one of the traditional powers in Mississippi, Meridian High, and he led them to their first Final Four since current NBA player Rodney Hood starred there 4 years ago. Jordon capped off a stellar career by leading his team to the first state title in school history, something his brother Jarvis and former Kentucky and NBA star Tony Delk could not achieve during their high school careers at Haywood. Additionally, all 3 of our signees possess a high basketball IQ, which is going to be even more important moving forward as college basketball tries to speed up the game with various rule changes for next season including lowering the shot clock to 30 seconds." Peace, Miller and Varnado, join nine other scholarship members and one walk on, leaving one open scholarship available for the 2015-16 season.
With one scholly left, do you award it to the walk-on or try to find another shooter or a center? It looks like Moravek is a wide body and Ariri is athletic enough to play the 4/5...not much experience at the 3...
