I wonder how much seat revenue they are losing I would think its minimal because of the very good deal they are offering those that are being relocated.

I am very disappointed in losing my seats in 109. I have sat here since 2001. For about 14 years I invisioned keeping these 50 yard line seats for the long term. Now I go from 50 yard line to about 35. Honestly, it makes me mad. I think most on here would feel the same way if it were your long term seats. I was a little disappointed a first. I had my 50 yards line seats in section 109 for several years as well. However, I am all for finding ways to attract more students to the game and to make VMS a more intimidating venue. On the plus side, I won't miss the blazing sun on the east side stands.

I wonder how much seat revenue they are losing I would think any immediate loss of revenue would be minimal for two reasons. First, I think most folks who are being displaced will still purchase tickets in another section. Second, I don't foresee a sellout game anytime soon, so I don't think converting section 109 from ticket holders to students will cost us any ticket sales.

when I first bought my tickets I purchased a family pack over in 107. Students were the lower segment of 109 and it got very raucous at times and security was down there a couple of times.....but the biggest problem was not really a problem just something that was not really explained to people........That is when they were selling family packs in 107 and I believe the upper part of 109 the students were STUDENTS they had a few pre parties and their language was that of pre partied students......yes there were curse words........OMG!!! and there were other little quotes that you really would not want your kids repeating.........and yes they harassed the opposition quite nicely..............to have a buffer they were moved over to 11 and 13 and the band was moved to the corner after my first year there..........to unify and bufferize the students from the protests of the people who complained......and there those who did......and they did not like the students standing in those first 5 to 10 rows.......
So hey we will have complaints again.....all for moving them over there.......and THAT section will be the last to clear out because it will be a favorite of the Frats to be right behind the other team..................just know if you are in the lower section of 107 and maybe all 107 and near that side............your little ones may hear some cheers that they are unfamiliar with at that time..............
I am now on the home side...........not at all due to any problems....actually I enjoyed having the students next to me in those days..........just did not like my ex-wife getting half our seats.....SO......guess what I did.......I would much rather sit by the students........... hippo-spank

There really isn't a bad seat in the stadium. I did the family 4 pack GA this year to cut some costs (3 kids in college at the same time ) and I found I really, really like watching the game from the end zone. You see the plays develop and you see the whole field. It's also like watching the whole game from the end zone camera. I am going to do the same package next season also. Best value in college football imo.

Oh well sounds like 107 on the fifty is going to get a little sporty. But then again I am a Saints fan so not much surprises me when it comes to what fans do.

Received a nice surprise today from the ticket office. For new season ticket buyers that purchased before this week, they sent a thank you note from Coach Brown and pics of the view from our new seats! Good to see the new energy and motivation from our athletics department. I think John Hartwell has done a great job and made a number of great hires. The future is looking bright for Troy. #TrojanUprising Attachments:

I've seen a couple of people post pictures from their new seats in Section 108. I'm glad to see some troyfan.com people join me in that section. The greater the number of committed, rowdy fans we can put behind our bench, the better the atmosphere, the better the response from the players. Let's be the section that starts the revolution and brings a big time, big game atmosphere to TROJAN football.

Hm, obviously they did a cost-benefit analysis of some sort and decided this was a good move, but I'm just surprised that such good seats on the 50 are going to students. Some of you suggested this is common practice, but I'm not familiar with it. Seems like those seats are better used for TROY boosters. Also seems that 3 sections will be spreading our student fan base pretty thing, but, as Hemi says, hopefully a culture change is coming.
FSU's student section is about the same location in the stadium as TROY's right now. Having been a student at both, I've sat in both, and, obviously, the experiences are incomparable. I do know I recently attended a bowl game featuring a major SEC team and found both my schools' traditions FAR FAR superior. This school pretty much had one thing and did it to death, not to mention out of tune and out of sync. Granted, FSU does the tomahawk chop to death, but that's the way we like it. Plus our F-L-O-R-I-D-A-S-T-A-T-E Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Whoo! chant, booming from 82,000 fans during a big game is absolutely magical. Doak is a one-of-a-kind venue. That said, there is still NOTHING that says football to me and gets the goosebumps up more than those first 12 notes of Dixie at the start at the SOUND OF THE SOUTH'S fanfare. My first (college) football game ever was at Troy and it's a memory I'll never forget.
Both are special to me in their own ways. I do know I never heard near the rowdiness out of TROY students as I have at FSU. I realize I probably sound like a member of the Waltons or something, but I've never found it very sporting the way students do F--k Miami/the Gators/the Tigers chants, boo the opposing band at halftime, flip the bird, and so forth. Recalling the racial slur stuff at Troy is also disturbing. We need to leave that sort of thing in the past right along with the battle flag waving. Even as a student I just liked to make noise and cheer on my team. I've always clapped for the opponent's halftime show and not been into that nasty stuff. Reading social media it's apparent that TROY fans can be pretty smug and nasty (saw some folks cheering on UAB's demise which I thought was pretty classless) but hopefully this move will bring the noise to our opponents but not the nastiness.
I'll probably just sit in 213/215 this year as I have since giving up my season tickets unless it looks like I'll be able to attend most of the games.

With BEAT DOWN your SEMINOLES took from the Ducks, I thought you may have decided to forgo college football in the future. Troy never LIVES UP and FSU certainly found their Waterloo and in So. California.

Haha, still proud to be a Seminole. It was a painful game to watch, and I watched 'til the end, especially as the 'Noles beat themselves with careless turnovers, although without a doubt Oregon is a great team and I expect them to beat Ohio State. They took advantage of FSU's mental mistakes. Jameis is still the better QB in the long run and will be a better player in the NFL. Even as the draft expert's say, if Mariota is like Kapernick and Winston is like Roethlisberger, I'll take the latter every time.
We enjoyed a 29 game winning streak and incredible national championship victory, the envy of the nation, even as the media narrative tried to tar and feather a young man who, while obviously not possessing the best judgment in the world, did not deserve the Attila the Hun treatment he received. The facts simply didn't support the narrative. ESPN got what they wanted in a good vs. evil match-up that was nothing short of an embarrassment for the Noles. But it would be silly to feel bad about a storybook few years that signal a return to dominance, likely enough. Jimbo Fisher is up there with Nick Saban, Harbaugh, and Urban Meyer as truly elite coaches. FSU will be back - the future is bright.
That said, I'm not sure I agree about TROY never living up. We got spoiled during our own storybook run of conference championships - we've been punching above our weight for years. I mean, we are talking about a school with less than 10,000 students (as far as football is concerned, this is true - students at TROY - Venice do not come to games or donate money generally) being a perennial competitor. I am optimistic NB can get us back to those days with some luck and hard work.
