How about Appalachian State's RB coach Chris Foster? They run a similar offense to what we run and ranked 19th in the nation in rush offense this season. Foster has a great resume at Appalachian State and Gardner-Webb with several 1000 yard rushers in his career thus far. We could easily afford him as Appalachian State ranks mid to low tier in SBC coaching salaries. www.appstatesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=21500&ATCLID=205391916

Also in or near the Top 25 in rush offense. Being top dogs (salary rankings) in the SBC, CUSA, and MAC, we would have some serious influence here. We don't have to poach FCS coaches.
7. Marshall 14. Northern Illinois 18. Toledo 19. Appalachian State 22. Texas State 25. Louisiana 26. Arkansas State 33. Middle Tennessee 35. Alabama-Birmingham 48. South Alabama
It's interesting to think that we could outbid Northern Illinois. Whether or not someone over there would want to leave a great program like that is another story. I left out Georgia Southern because they run the triple option. Their offense is their reason for success, not necessarily a good RB coach, though he may be one.
Also, to be clear, Marshall and NIU's coaches don't make a huge amount less than ours do. So there may not be enough incentive to leave their programs if that's the route we want to go. Several on this list though, are up for grabs.

Kudos to the administration to finally allow the program to spend the money to hire quality coaches that are in demand instead of bringing in high school coaches or coaches who haven't been on the field for years.

I would call Coack Beck back. He appears to have had a positive relationship with the players.

I think you've mentioned that in the past.

He also doesn't get back with coaches that contact him. That's a fact and not friends of mine either. Heard it from a Lakeland High coach personally I met and that is one of the top programs in the state. I'm just saying we need a fresh start there.

I have been told that Coach Beck is a positive role model. At the same time, a good RB coach.

I don't think Coach Beckles comes back. Do the math, how many offensive coaches do we have? I know that there isn't a rule with how many coaches you need on one side of the ball, but how many schools have an unbalanced number?

Yes, Brown has already said is looking for two more defensive coaches. We have all been waiting to hear who might fill the last two defensive coach positions. I have been of the mindset that they must be involved with a current program that was playing post season.
NOT trying to stir the pot, BUT this is on Football Scoop this morning. Louisiana Lafayette defensive coaches Tim Edwards and Matt Wallerstedt will not return to the staff.

Wallerstedt was Texas Tech's DC in 2013 and 2014. He resigned/was fired a few weeks into the 2014 season. He was hired as a consultant by Mark Hudspeth at ULL in October. Texas Tech was 88th in scoring defense under Wallerstedt in 2013. He arrived after Neal Brown left so ties to him may be limited. As a LB coach at Texas A&M in 2012, the defense was: 16th in 3rd down conversion defense. 35th in redzone defense. 32nd in sacks. 57th in tackles for loss. 26th in scoring defense. I'd like to see Wallerstedt as our LBs coach, and Sumrall as our DL coach. They are both fantastic coordinators with good resumes.
