$500,000+ is a significant investment for a program like ours. If this was solely raised by the Trojan Warrior Fund than the sky may be the limit with the infancy of this program. I don't know how much is in the unrestricted part of the Warrior Program, but I'm sure some of that money is used in just that way. If you don't designate does it go to football or to a general fund to be dispensed as the AD sees? I always designate football on mine but I'm sure there are those that might just assume it goes to football

I prefer mine to go to wherever it's needed the most for Troy athletics.

I might designate a portion to go the general fund though, that might be better.

I don't think it was Hartwell, the funding for football started long before he was in place. Fact >> When Steve Dennis "retired" we had less than $800,000 in contributions toward the "Match" required to get funding for the end zone project. I do not know where that match stands at the present, but ample funding is apparently available for Coaches, recruiting etc. As a matter of fact, I remember CLB stating two years ago that he could recruit anywhere he felt necessary. As far as JH saving a bunch of money, I doubt it. Increased funding is a priority setting/budgeting process and takes a minimum of a year (or more) to effect change. John has only been the DA 2 1/2 years now. Regardless, I'm thrilled and excited about the future of Trojan Football. I wonder if the $800,000 you referenced includes the money raised during the event in Montgomery they held for Coach Blakeney to celebrate his 20th anniversary at Troy. I was a student back than and attended the event. I remember how packed that event was and it wasn't a cheap ticket. After that event I would of thought we would have had a sizable amount of money for the end one facility. Soon after the event in Montgomery though, improvements were made for every varsity sport it seemed except for football and it seemed that we were back at square one in regards of raising money for the end one facility. I just wish the university would be more transparent with how the money that is utilized for capital improvements. Don't get me wrong, I think Trojan Arena is one of the best arena's in the country for schools our size, I just think the money may have been better allocated towards football and applied towards the program where we were developing NFL caliber athletes every season.

My understanding was that there wasn't nearly as much money made off that event as people think. You can't just sink money into one sport. You have to continually upgrade and update all facilities across the board. Does Wesley Person sign to play basketball in Sartain?

Hemi Man, you're totally correct that without Trojan Arena we probably don't have a chance to sign a player of Person's caliber, but with that being said (or typed) we were already getting that caliber of football player(s) every year in football. We are not the flagship school in the state and we don't have a school of engineering, medical school, law school or other big paying degrees that larger schools may have in their system. If you think about it, our success in developing NFL caliber talent has made several Troy graduates very wealthy. Football has also provided Troy the forum to get our name out there on national tv a few times a year. In my opinion, we must continue to invest in programs that have the largest rate of return for the university as a whole.

I understand what you're saying, but in all reality there is already more money directed to football than any other sport. Of course it costs, and makes more than any other sport as well.

Question: What are they going to do with Tine Davis after the new end zone facility is built?

Question: What are they going to do with Tine Davis after the new end zone facility is built? My guess would be to move the last few remaining offices out of Sartain. I think golf and track are still housed over there.

Just don't know who's/what's left in Sartain???
