I Understand that UAB has to/will honor Bills contract.
What happens contractually with UAB if he accepts another coaching position?
Could we afford him in a Coordinators position?
What is his current salary at UAB?

Since the cap is set at 1.2 million. We should be able to pay our OC and DC more than 200k.

I'm weary about bringing in old school powerhouse coaches. Wayne Bolt was a GREAT DC when no one ran the spread. Some of the "old crowd" never adapted to modern day offenses. I want someone who doesn't just have "stats", but also has war torn experience against THUNHO.
Then there's Georgia Southern. That offense will have to be dealt with. Not an easy task.

We just had some great defenses then. Solid all the way around. They were the stars but the other gave them a great opportunity. Many sacks were coverage sacks. Oh, the good old days. They will be back.

Antonio Ford was a player on d-line also. It was really good to see the guys from that era of Troy football back at the stadium in that setting.

As for his own future, Clark said he's not sure which direction he'll take. He said he's received "feelers" from some Football Championship Subdivision programs about head coaching jobs. "I'm appreciative, and I'm not saying I won't consider it down the road, but I want to stay at this FBS level," he said. "I had a great job at the FCS level at Jacksonville State. That's why I left my alma mater, to get to this level." One possibility: If he doesn't get the right head coaching offer at the FBS level, Clark said, he would consider a defensive coordinator position. "I've had guys call me about that," he said, "but I really want to continue as a head coach." Full Article: www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2014/12/in_wide-ranging_interview_uab.html

Any news on what Bill Clark is doing? Coaching? Drawing a paycheck from UAB. Any school that wants to hire him will have to not only reach an agreement with him, but UAB as well. I can imagine that although they want someone to hire him, they want the offer from that school to relieve them of as much of their obligations to Clark as possible. So, the bigger the job/school the better.

He maybe waiting for awhile for a FBS HC job...... Very true. I don't see him adamantly holding out on a HC job. Wouldn't be shocked to see him wait to see how the off-season HC vacancies shake out & then take advantage of a vacancy on a top tier SEC/ACC staff.

He should have kept his butt at JSU. Auburn: Gus Malzahn tells reporters he hasn’t yet decided who will coach the defense for bowl practices and that he hopes to hire a new coordinator in the near future. Rivals.com’s Auburn site reports Malzahn has spoken with former Florida coach Will Muschamp, Memphis defensive coordinator / safeties coach Barry Odom and Mississippi State defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Geoff Collins. UAB head coach Bill Clark is also a possibility.
