We have a hefty schedule next year with Wisconsin, Ms State and NC state..... I hope he finds a decent FCS school to fill the void.

Anyone, anytime, anywhere... I agree but filling a home game this late will almost guarantee a FCS game.

Going off fbschedules.com, here are a few schools I think we could beat that don't have games listed on the 26th.
FAU FIU Navy

There are a few schools. A home and home with Tulane would be cool.

Was in N O for the weekend and saw the new stadium Tulane has on campus. Pretty cool stadium. Of coarse I would jump at any reason to my favorite city.

I like the Tulane option. We could actually bring a decent amount of fans to that game and they are someone that could be a potential win.

Not sure about this: Disco, Flivver and the crew in New Orleans again without the wives. We are not as fast as we used to be. Might have to pull Ho and redwave out of the ditch again.

I will never forget the incident at Krystal after the Rice game..........too much fun...if thats possible. If we played Tulane we might be able to get Dirty Rick to come up from Florida.

Jax State or Samford would be great. Alabama State would draw a great crowd as well

Jax State or Samford would be great. Alabama State would draw a great crowd as well Hartwell has stated he doesn't want to play Jax. St. Samford or ASU would be more realistic. The point of the FCS game (and this year back fired) is to get a win. You don't need to chance a loss in rebuilding years. You wouldn't want to schedule a NDSU, McNeese, Sam Houston, Eastern Washington or Montana etc. You can beat them but you run the risk as Kansas St., Iowas St., Oregon St. And USF found out.

I'm not quite worked up to "Anyone" just yet if that anyone is an FCS team that is on par with most FBS teams at our level. If we're going to schedule an FCS game in the middle of that monster of a start we have next season, it needs to be a relatively reliable win to give the guys a rest and build some confidence. Otherwise go for an open CUSA or AAC team so our loss is somewhat respectable. The McNeese States and Jax States of the world can wait another year.

Tulane is off on the dates vacated by UAB. So playing the Wave could be perfect for us... if the fbs schedule site is accurate and I wasn't drunk and mis read it.

UAB is a home game for us this year - will playing someone like Tulane put us down to a possible 4 home games?

Yea, I never thought nerds from Rice could get so angry. Dirty Rick's performances are legendary

I agree with Hemi, this will be the opportunity for an FCS school to visit Memorial Stadium. However, in 2016, we only have Clemson and UMass as our out of conference games and UAB was going to be an away game for Troy so my hunch is that we will be heading to Lexington to play Kentucky since they also had UAB on their schedule for 2016 (September 3rd) and we have no one on our schedule for that opening weekend yet and will need two out of conference games to fill.

Troy, for recruiting reasons alone, not to mention Troy fans, needs to try to put one or more Florida teams on the schedule. FIU and FIU need home and away games as much as us. USF (which should be an easy win) and UCF should be open to some deals.

My son attends there and they get some big schools to play them at home now and they draw very well. USF would be more realistic and wouldn't mind FIU or FAU or the crown Jewell the U.

Need a $1 million road game payout from a P5 team. Need the money for facilities.
