Troy and SoBama have proven in consecutive years that Black Friday games are attendance killers. Good point & completely understand where you're coming from. Another thought would be to move it to this Saturday. The SBC doesn't have a Championship Game & there is a limited supply of available games to watch/attend for fans. Could be a really good niche to fall in. Plus, lets assume Troy & S. Alabama continue to build successful programs...that game could become a deciding factor in the SBC Championship many years making it relevant to the entire conference. I like that idea a lot!!

If UAB football gets cut cold turkey we will need a team to replace them on the schedule. Looking for a cupcake as we have a monstrous OOC schedule next season. Ya we need a easy home game.... Wisconsin, miss state and NCSU are likely 3 losses off the bat... Yes a definite cupcake......

Here is how it effects us, We go get Cornelius Williams (WR coach), Duwan Walker (DC) & Chuck Dunn (LB coach) and bring them home along with any players and recruits that they think we need! If they have to field a team 2 more years Bolt will be looking for a job so maybe clark could get him as a DC..... The programmed was dropped effective to day. No more games.

Savannah State, FAMU, Alabama State, Jackson State, etc.
Doesn't Kennesaw State have a team now?

I don't think this was answered yet... Do the players have to sit out a year if they transfer in this situation?

I don't think this was answered yet... Do the players have to sit out a year if they transfer in this situation? No, all players will be granted a hardship waiver (I think that's the name) & will be immediately eligible at any NCAA school.

I noticed one of their cancellation payouts was going to Kentucky for a game in 2016. Any chance CNB gets Troy that game?

Maybe it's time to go back to MTSU and take The Palladium back.

Dropping UAB gives CUSA an even number of teams, doesn't it?

If they are wanting 14 teams then USA or GSU is a target.

This could affect the Sunbelt..................C-USA steals SoAl, ULL or A-State from the conference to replace UAB. I mentioned this a few threads back and was told not likely. But with UNCC coming in, they need another team to even out their numbers. I want to hold onto stAte, USA, ULL, ULM, as well as GA Southern and App State. TX State fans seem in a hurry to get to CUSA, but hoping they would take GA State for the market if they do come looking, since immediate quality of a program is not their primary concern (see previous teams taken).

If we lost to Prarie View, NC A&T or Mercer we would join UAB in dropping football or go back to D2. We will get a swagger back with Neal. Wait to you see the difference a hungry coach and a team with a (The HC we don’t speak of) on their shoulders make.

Is there any consideration to us trying to go to C-USA? I know Mr. Ho hates the idea, but most non-Troy fans see C-USA as a better league than the Sun Belt. And I believe they have more bowl tie-ins.

Me personally, I have no desire to go to CUSA. I like that we have regional rivalries with the likes of USA, Georgia Southern (who I dislike the most), and even Georgia State. I think it's overall better for our fan base because it provides more opportunities for more of our fan base to travel to away games, and other fan bases to come to Troy. The overlap in fan bases helps to build more intense rivalries. Living in Georgia, I'm already sick of the Georgia Southern fan base and want nothing more than to desTROY them next year in Troy.

I think from CUSA's view it would make more sense for South Alabama to replace UAB than TROY. Bigger market etc.
