My understanding is that if you are on scholarship for any sport, you can not "walk on" to play football. If so, coaches would hide football players all over athletics. Makes sense. Now if you are on a football scholly, you can play other sports, baseball, track, etc.

Evidently this kid chose baseball but it does open a possibility, if in deed he can even go out for football??

God I hope not....I know that kid. You do not want him to play football. I think he is committed to baseball only. He is a great competitor. He can throw the football well but has some special stuff in baseball.

God I hope not....I know that kid. You do not want him to play football. Does this mean we really, really want him to play baseball, or does it mean he would be a liability playing football. I know he did well playing HS football, but against 2A/3A competition.

Yes and yes The level of talent of all 11 men on the defensive and offensive side of the ball goes up a great deal with each level.

Doesn't 2A/3A...8A indicate the number of students, not the quality of talent? Exactly. Troy has had a lot of great players over the years from smaller schools. I played at the smallest 2A school In Florida at the time. The bigger schools have more students and better teams sometimes but I know in FL there are some 3A and 4A schools that could beat the crap out of some 7A and. 8A schools

Comparing the talent level among HS classifications (2A to 6A for example) is like comparing recruiting regions of South FL to South AL. Simple statistics dictate that the larger the pool of potential players, the greater the number of highly talented players. This applies whether one compares a high school with 200 male students to one with 800, or a recruiting region with hundreds of potential players to one with thousands. A talented player can play regardless of competition, but the amount of top talent one competes against can determine how well he plays.

True statement also and one of the things that got me frustrated with us not attempting to recruit the area of Florida where the huge talent pool was. Hoping this changes now. We at least have to try, to much talent to ignore.

They would have no problem beating 8A West Port here or 7A Forest but not Aquinas, Osceola or First Coast.

Man I LOVE FISHING IN THUS POND, FYI, Niceville played in 7 Running clock games thus year, THEY WON THE OTHER 6, are in the final four 7A PLAYOFFS. Classification don't mean Squat!!!! Florida Christian HS (2A) beats most ALL schools in Florida, short of St. Thomas...

Not 7A, not 8A, 4A HIGH SCHOOL, LESS THAN 500 STUDENTS!!!
