Would be a bizarre move for JJ. He has it made in Mobile, low expectations a new program with no history. He is from Mobile and was a superstar prep athlete in Mobile and is the boy that made good and returned to start the football program. Among those that care about South football he is a hero in a big town and even those that dont care they all know who he is. He has a great market with a growing population to recruit from......In other words.....he isnt coming to TROY. I heard this rumor yesterday and have to believe that it is just an opportunity for JJ to stir things up and get the administration moving on the on campus stadium.

Hemi, I heard the same thing. However, I would be amazed if that actually went anywhere. I like Joey and think he has done some great things and has many great years ahead of him, but a move to TROY would make no sense at all. But, maybe he wants to get away from someone and hide out in Pike County.

I think Clark is a good bit better.

Is Jimmy Sexton his Agent? If he did "apply" could be a ploy to get the home team to up his pay.

Yes, agents play big role in this process. Most initial contact is via agent ...especially if ur dealing with sitting head coach. Also, the agents have multiple clients. And in our search, there are agents with multiple clients who've been mentioned here ...but the agent can pick and choose which client they'll push for a job. An AD can go around the agent, but then u have to clear it with the coach's AD ... Prolongs the process, and the coach may not want that. No doubt several of the 100 or so coacbes that "expressed interest" were just looking for raises!

What's the odds Troy hires clark? I've been told he's put his name in the pot as well as jones Zero. We would owe UA's B team two years left on his contract. Unless Clark knows for fact that they are dropping the program and he can sue to be released from his contract. Same with Joey Jones (if he has any years left) and Steve Campbell. Dear Leader isn't writing any checks to anyone unless they include business-class tickets to some exotic location.

Talk about mediocrity... I am not a fan of Joey jones. Coach Clark did more for south than Joey did. Am I biased? Yep probably a little.
