I don't think MW didn't know what to say - I think he chose not to say what he knew this week.

This season is on the AD and administration. This has been coming for 4 years now. Oh we went 6-6 last season but at OT win against UAB that we got outplayed in, a Hail Mary with 7 seconds to go to win by 1 against USA that we got outplayed in, a come from behind to beat a horrible GA St by 7 and a 4th down stop to beat WKU. We could have been easily 2-10 last season. Their decision to ignore the problem is why we are in the shape we are in

Trust me if JR and JH doesn't get this one right something is bad wrong. Look to the future my friend, look to the future.

We better get it right or we will be a decade recovering from the mess.

We better get it right or we will be a decade recovering from the mess. David, I don't see how on earth this mess can be put on this AD. Maybe an earlier one but not JH. You can't expect a new AD to walk on campus and start firing people ESPECIALLY someone like Larry who has been here so long, established a legacy and done what he's done for Troy. Now I know there are fans that don't give a darn about what you have done in the past, it's all about what you've done for me lately. I know we find ourselves in a mess because coaches haven't done worth a hoot at coaching. Neither has the folks at the top...way up top with their financial support and neither has the players so there is enough blame to go around for everyone to take a share.. I just don't see anything near to the quality athletes we have had in the past on the field this year, especially at the QB position. Some keep saying it's there but I don't see it. We DO have some good athletes but I'm talking team as a whole. We have always had a great arm and some terrific recivers. Where on earth has Troys offense gone? It's pathetic!! In our spread offense, if you never throw across the middle short or deep or if you can't throw with some degree of touch and accuracy, you will struggle. Our game scheme and decisions blows my mind like just before half last night. 20 times a game, we run 20 yards east and west to gain a foot north and south. Last night we got a country whipping in the line, especially offensely. If we will trust JH and give him s chance, I trully believe he understands the importance of this hire and will hire the BEST MAN FOR TROY THAT THE BOSS SAYS WE CAN AFFORD. The top boss had better understand that as well. I, for one will hold John accountable negatively only when he GIVES me reasonable evidence that it's deserved. He doesn't have to hire my guy or some big name for me to be satisfied but he does have to hire the best fit for Troy. The assistant coaches future and JH's ability to deal with them is just as important.

I hope the hire is succesful. Point is that if it isn't we will be a long time recovering. We have one shot at this let's make it work. Go Troy and. 04-cheers. To the future

I'm 73 and I hope I live long enough to see it turned around. Troy has taken a mighty fall. I fear this problem goes deeper than any of us realize. When attitudes and behaviors/discipline becomes a major factor fixing that is very very difficult and most folks don't/won't accept the actions needed to correct it quickly. Takes a coach that could care less whether fans agree with him or not. Usually it changes or it gets ugly quick!

If the proverbial house-cleaning is necessary, we'll know by the size of the next signing class. Stick around for the come up...nobody's gonna see it coming ht_trojan

The most glaring issue baring transfers, next season we wil have three senior QB's and a Sophmore which makes getting a qb in this signing class critical.

My point was that scholarships are not required to be used on the same player year in and year out...players do have an option to leave, but the coach will have the option to renew scholarships, if he sees fit...

Correct on the scholarships. Might be different now but ours were evaluated after spring practice

JH didn't hire his choice for softball coach... Who was his choice? The softball team must have been thrilled to get a coach from Alabama to watch Bama football with on Saturdays sFun_DeadHorse
