5 left in the 4th and the offensive playing calling of Troy has been that of a team playing not to lose. NMSTs play calling is that of a team playing to win. This game would be a 20+ pt win. I am happy we are winning but we won't win more than one or two with that attitude and it's been around all season.

Give me a break. We won, deal with it.

I am happy we won, I am ecstatic that we won. I think the team needed it, the coach need it, and the fans needed it. During the postgame show I heard Blakney get emotional during an interview for the first time since I started following Troy, that alone shows how big this win was/is. I think the team and coaches can build off of this to end the season well.
I was looking at things from a championship mindset, which is the offensive play calling was that of a coordinator who was calling not to lose. If the D hadn't stepped at some key moments to get stops and turnovers then I would have been a nail biter or a lose at the end rather than a very comfortable win. Also keep in mind when I posted that it was only a 12 point game and NMST was driving and making gutsy calls that could have ended like the Miracle in Murphysboro.

In this game we were not up big we were up by I think 12 when I posted the thread.

I don't think that we'll have to worry about that playcaller after this season, cornhole not impressed with O playcalling for several seasons.

The QB ran 20 times...20. RB coach heckles explain to me that NMSU keying on Troy running backs, QB have option to keep ball.

I was really impressed by the fight from Birch today myself, among others.
One thing I was wondering, and I'm not complaining because I'm not sure if maybe I missed something, but when Troy called a timeout before kicking the field goal before the half, they stopped the clock with :43 left. Why didn't they run it down some? Was it a playclock issue and they did? Something else?

If you're going to respond I'd much rather it have been with the answer...A simple question is all it was.

It seems to be more a clock management issue. Without knowing more about the reason, it seems to me that they should have let the clock run down some more. Nobody seems to know why they should have done.
