Did I hear JH correctly that they are very close to breaking ground on this facility? Also they are currently looking for a contractor to start the facility asap?

In short no, you did not hear him correctly. He said they would soon begin talking with contractors again, to say "Very close to starting" would be a little off... the way I heard him

He also stated Chancellor Hawkins and the Board will give a jump start to get it going. Sounds like something Hemi mentioned a while back funding between athletics and academic side of the house. Its a branding issue. Football is the sport in this part of the world. It helps with enrollment along with other factors. Facilities are part of life in D 1. It's time to support Troy. Southern Miss is a different situation than us. Bigger school, bigger endowment, closer to a larger population area, bigger conference.

Old South Mississississippppi has fancy giant End Zone House for years and win two game in 2.5 years. Two game. And premise CDOA bigger conference is laughable. Sure UA's B team wipe floor with us this year but that not norm.

When we say the buck stops on the Presidents desk this is exactly what is meant. He controls the purse strings and the direction of flow the money takes. There were/are lots of needs at Troy and we've made huge and beautiful progress but it's footballs time to be at the top of the list for funding. Nothing else outside academia brings more students or money to Troy than a SUCCESSFUL football program!

I've often wondered if LB feels slighted by the academic side of the university. What he's done in 24 years has raised more money for Troy university as a whole. In reality the end zone facility should have been completed two years ago. I wonder how many dollars he helped raised to get the park and other projects completed? I think maybe he's been used by those on the academic side and has seen little fruit from his labors on the fund raising side. I know Hawkins has pimped the do more with less campaign, but it's evident he and Bookout do not subscribe to that theory with their salaries. Just my opinion.

I'm praying for more progress and change in a number of areas after the departure of a couple of other named individuals in this thread.

I don't think the board and hawkins has approved giving the end zone a jump start yet. It's in talks from what I was told.

Troy has the money. Whether Leadership writes the check.
Plain and simple: The endzone complex is coming or Hartwell is gone. Hartwell is Hawkins hire to move Troy to the next level. When Hartwell was looking at the job he knew facilities were needed. Hawkins knows athletic facilities are needed and they were promised.
So what is the delay ? Leadership has moved mountains and spent it on the campus. Basically the Troy campus is brand knew, over the last several years they have spent money like drunken sailors on the campus. And it is fine, no doubt. Now to the final Stage , football facilities.
Hawkins loves the positive perception. He can't let football stay in the slums too long. It's looks bad.
Let's see if promises get fulfilled.

You mean the ones when you belittle and hate on Troy supporters for having an opinion, yea not too impressed with those.
Or the ones where you pound your chest in an attempt to try to get everyone think you know it all. Or the one where you made fun of a posters Troy education because they didn't use the quote function correctly. (Like I did above )

Uh oh. Lego mad again. Rest assured my goal isn't to impress internet cool dudes like yourself. Thank goodness guy, I was worried about that. Stay focused. You must really have a love affair for this Lego. Being cool is hard. I have much to teach you guy. Stay in touch. In all seriousness, at least attempt to be nice to the Troy supporters on here. You don't have to be a smart a$$ about everything to everyone. Your viciousness toward them is they only thing I disagree with you about.
