You know someone's going to come along and say they can dress how they want because they aren't doing a walk with their fans.
I'm not gonna be that guy. I'm just gonna point out a picture to social media is just as much if not more in "public" and they are representing themselves like a bunch of hippies.
Their kicker isn't even wearing a helmet!

Show me the photo when they get off the plane or when they do their version of Trojan Walk at home. Just saw Texas State in Montgomery and every one of them had on the same athletic suit. I believe it is a matter of pride in yourself and in your school as well as disciplined behavior. I think our team could use a little more of all of those.

Hmmmm.....pride,discipline, why does our team need more of that ? We have had three straight non-winning seasons and currently are 0-4. We all good.

Unless they are really lost. They play Tulsa tomorrow.

They had the same boots, chaps, and hats. Don't forget the skoal ring on the back pocket.

Yeah, I have not been one of those people harping on the Trojan Walk, because I don't much care - I rarely get to Troy early enough to attend the walk anyway - but just as a matter of analogy this is apples and oranges. Yes, social media is highly visible, but how individuals dress when settling in for a plane ride versus when presenting themselves as a unit during a pep event before the game are two very different situations.
Now, I do think some level of uniformity is good for team spirit - like encouraging the wearing of a single outfit for everybody for both its symbolism and aesthetic qualities. I don't really think it's fair to harp on the hair and beards. That's the age we live in, and plus, complaining about, say, dreadlocks or cornrows would be getting you close to sort of a cultural commentary / implicit bias issue. Either way it's not directly translating to Ws and Ls anymore than recruiting in Central Florida does. Not to say everything doesn't add up.

It would be cool if they all dressed in costumes and rode on floats.

This would not even be an issue except the undisciplined attitude and play we are seeing on the field.
I don't think they are connected to each other. But when we stink as bad as we do then everything someone doesn't like becomes fair game to grip about. We can't win games at least we could look better (according to their opinion) going into the game.
The bottom line is we are very undisciplined on and off the field. Fact is that is not because of how they are dressed as evidenced by the video. Other teams in the belt must be having fun with us debating how our players look. Really come on! Do we have to make it worse by continuing to debate this issue.
We need a change in culture. Leaders are put in places for seasons in the life span of an organization. They either change and develop themselves to become more effective or they move on after a certain amount of time. That's in anything. It's that way in what I do. I seek to continue to develop in my leadership and pastoral skills. The church will continue to grow and God continues to equip me to lead in that growth. An important step in leadership is to know when it is time to go. Larry hit his personal top in his level of leadership. I haven't seen much different out of him in the past 4 years. In fact he brought coaches in that would do things exactly how he wanted it done and things have gotten worse. It is past time for him to move on to his next coaching assignment or retire.
Bill Cower sensed it was time that he would either need to change himself and improve as a coach or move on. He decided he had put his time in and he moved on. Nick Saban (I'm not a bamer but he is the best out there right now) he will sense when it's time and he will move on. We needed that to happen 4 yrs ago. It is always best when a leader senses that change and leaves when the organization is on top.

Lets not focus on silly outdated things like discipline. Remember you might offend individuals on the board if you don't fall in line and drink their kool aid. I personally think Barry McKnight dresses our team before Trojan walk and Amos cuts their hair. All is good

I'm just going to leave this here. This guy has probably won more games than our staff of keyboard coaches and smartphone AD's gathered here.

At the end of the day, if you're abiding by the board rules, we have no problem. If I come across something I do have a problem with, I shoot you a message and CC the man...easy-peezy. So, it's not that bad if you're being mature about how you get your point across...I assume Mr. Ho is the only one that doesn't apply to, for now MrBurns
