Honestly, I think the athletic department could package all these games up in a box set and sell it. I know I'm gonna find a way to sit down and rewatch them all in the off-season. YouTube is your best friend for nearly all of them, save Marshall and Army. I'm going through and putting them in my Troy Videos playlist when I find them.

Brave move picking the Miracle on the Mountain but I agree with you. It seemed to gel our team together in a way that a close win over App that day wouldn't have. Nicely done. Also enjoyed the Dell Pettus pick at 13. Sat behind his parents at the bowl game who were nervous wrecks. I hope they were proud of the amazing effort their son gave out there. He was everywhere. As many times as Coach Sumrall mentioned the Miracle as a defining moment for this team, there was no way I wasn't including it.

When was the last time we won football, basketball and baseball? Did we do it in the 90's? I am partial to IMO the greatest season in Troy history (1987) football national championship, baseball national championship and basketball final four. I can't recall the Southland-A Sun days but I would think we did all three at some point I don't recall basketball ever being in the final four and, given the big deal that would have been, I think I would recall that. Since I couldn't remember it, I searched online and I can't find reference to it. I would love to be able to say that we were once in the Final Four. Please provide a reference. The only Final Four we've ever made was the D2 tournament in 1993.

Haven't even started the conference schedule and we're writing men's basketball off eh?? Excuse me, Mr. Thought Police. I was stating facts. When was the last time Troy won a conference championship/made playoffs/bowl game in multiple "big" sports (football, basketball, baseball, w. basketball)? I hope I'm wrong, it would delight me to see all of the teams have great runs this year. We won the Sun Belt in 2017 in football, men's basketball, and women's basketball.

So why is it cheaper to purchase everything individually for 18,500 rather than bundled for 25,000? Well, the first two are the same, so take a discount and go $17,000. 🤣

You could be right. I’m sure bennekles will write an article. Bennekles never compares Apples and Oranges. Heck, he might tell us about the 1947 TMTDM team that didn't give up a touchdown 1947 gave up plenty, but only allowed 109 total points for a 10.9 ppg. I'll have to check again tomorrow when I'm more awake, but the only team to never be scored on was the 3 game 1909 season.

This will go down as the greatest Troy defense in history. We beat Marshall scoring 9 offensive points because they added 7, we beat TX St scoring 17 points, South scoring 10, Army scoring 10 and they held a team that was scoring around 35+ points a game tonight to 10 (sorry safety was on the offense). There are no other teams in FBS that win games scoring 10-18 points a game and we won 12. This defense showed up every game and came through in the clutch every time. We might never see another one like this 2022 squad. They were indeed special and I will always remember this defense and this season You could be right. I’m sure bennekles will write an article. Well, NOW I'm going to. Look for it once the 2023 media guide comes out so I can get accurate stats.

So if today being Wednesday is really Thursday because Friday is Saturday, then where is the uniform reveal? Tomorrow. I asked for it today, and they responded nope.

I think we see the new silver helmet in the bowl. 🔘 We are practicing in black helmets. We will wear black with cardinal accents. I mentioned it yesterday.

I'm just glad we haven't seen any white helmets this year. Well, if we did, I don't remember, just winning. PS: How are home/visitor decided for bowl games? Is it just a coin flip or is there something about the rankings? Amen. White helmets are unnatural and ugly. This is a bad take.

Uniform and helmet fashion never concern cornhole. It's what's inside that helmet that matters. That's cool, but there's a whole lot of people, including recruits, who do like it. I will agree though. Doesn't matter if you don't win.

They're practicing in black helmets with cardinal decals and facemasks. We're probably going to see ⚫⚪🔴 or ⚫⚪⚫.

I am trying to remember if there has ever been a 13 win Troy team? I believe 87 and 93 won 12 No 13 win teams ever. 84, 87, 93, 96 are the only 12 win seasons.

Troy University has a proud tradition of fielding great teams. Very few of the great Troy teams achieve 10 wins. The 2022 Troy Trojans have joined elite company and are hereby initiated into the Troy Trojan 10 Win Fellowship. Members: (check me bennekles) 2022 2018 2017 2016 2000 1999 1996 1995 1993 1992 1987 1986 1984 1968 I believe you are correct. 4 FBS, 6 FCS, 3 D2, 1 NAIA.

Good color combination. I especially like the metallic cardinal helmet with black accents. It may be my second favorite behind the chrome dome. Equipment confirmed they are brand new decals and the black is matte. It will look so good on-field.

You provided some food for thought. XHCCL had more deficiencies than just losing some close ones. It's no secret on this board that if you talk to Gunnar's father, he will openly tell you his opinions of his coaching. He didn't have anything to say about XHCCL as a person and I don't think he speaks ill of anyone. A football coach from a 1A Alabama school sits in front of me at The Vet. He said something very interesting that made me gag but I couldn't deny it. He said if we had XHCCL as OC, we would be much better on offense. His assessment is that when we are successful in the second half, we are running XHCCL's offense. Funny you should mention that. I used to work with a guy, a good friend now that works in UCFâs program, recruiting department. We text often during football season. He knows my utter distaste for (The HC we don’t speak of) Lindsay for what he did to our program. He mentioned, âhey the guy you might not think he is a solid citizen but he has our offense doing well, we are nationally ranked, good chance to be the G5 rep in the NY6 bowl and has our transfer QB lighting it upâ I did the research and couldnât disprove what he was saying. Oh well. He gone from Troy, all ends well. I think both things can actually be true. He was an awful head coach, but I can't deny that he is at least a good QB coach.
