What was the best hire there mr know it all? So you’ve been onboard with HCGP the whole time then? I have no problem with coach Parker. It’s far too early to start screaming fire this coach. This is a brand new team. I’m not sure the results are much different if Sumrall is still here. This a very young, in terms of experience, team.

This is what happens when you hire coordinator Thanksgiving leftovers again… You might be on to something. Haven’t we seen this before?

This program has derailed off the tracks. As everyone has stated, the lack of discipline, limited enthusiasm and zero attention to detail tells everyone what they need know. It’s apparent and seems to be getting worse.
The captain of the program is the head coach, he and his staff look and act lost. I truly hope he gets it together but looks doubtful. Can anyone point to improvements in the intangibles? Regardless of some on here claiming there is no talent (there is btw) on the team, the other parameters that make up a successful program are lacking or non-existent.

A couple of positives from the day.
After today's Trojan Day tours, Mrs. TBB who was hoping that Miss TBB would choose UF or FSU is now 100% on board with Miss TBB attending Troy. Miss TBB doesn't care that we lost the game because Dr. Jack said all the right words to her today. "Dad, at Troy, the teachers will know you by name and you won't just be a number."
5 year old TBBjr got his Hook's BBQ and then devoured a hotdog and two ice creams up in the stadium club. He loved the helicopters and the fireworks.
I got to visit with Magee and Mrs. Head who went to school with my parents. I saw Troyfan and got a slice of world class poundcake from B Sweet Dessert Boutique.
So, yeah we got our arse kicked by ULM which is never supposed to happen. Overall however, I have to call the day a win.

We will be okay. Youth mixed with injuries, inconsistency, and penalties will need to all be dealt with. Also need to find a consistent QB1… goose may be to injury prone idk. Still go Trojans anyways

Still doesn’t excuse the lack of discipline and all the penalties It’s hard for young guys still dealing their on field leaders to control their thoughts! The guy who looks at you and out of EARNED RESPECT can put you in line and give you the assurance that it’s going to be ok. Conner is missed to a degree that few can measure on this young a team. The D guy has yet to standout but it will come. The one who taps your helmet and just with that look and a “we got this” Calms the young guys and they can play. An upset win over Tex St could do amazing things. It is still a game. There were people suffering all over due to Helene and yet on a beautiful nite sitting by friends I could just NOT LIKE WHAT I SAW. Not having to suffer other than a shake of my head. When Micheal hit 6 years ago my office was destroyed Oct 10th. It dawned on me the following Saturday that Troy was playing Liberty and lost. I did not care other than just that little W would have been a pleasant thought in days of a bunch of horrific ones. It is a blessing to have watched many fantastic and great moments of Troy football and they will likely come again. For now I will just go Thursday nite and cheer and enjoy the moment. Love Troy Football and friends I’ve made there. Hate losing with a passion. That sucks! But in life even now is a big win to enjoy Troy football for me. PS They do need discipline! That is where leadership needs to be shown and or established.

Still go Trojans anyways He wouldn't have to deal with injuries much if his O-Line would block better. The O-Line, IMO, is the key reason Troy isn't winning. If they're not blocking well, then they're holding... it's why Troy isn't consistently maintaining any drives.

Ideally someone more familiar with the SunBelt and how Troy does business like Brown or Sumrall. Gasparato for example. I would have loved Reggie Barlow though but that was pie in the sky. Even though he did not fit the parameters I listed above. I am just a fan of his

I had the privilege of being on the sidelines on one game when Neal Brown was coach and once when Sumrall was coach. The biggest differences are ---- 1- the squad that was off the field was on the bench and being coached. At Kansas State the offense came off the field and a coach grabbed them and sat them on the bench. He told them what he saw and then asked for comments. There were a few (like we can beat them on post routes) but not many. then he broke them apart and sent the line to one coach, the backs to another, and the QB and receivers to another. I listened to the line coach. He asked them what wasn't working. They all agreed that some particular blocking scheme wasn't working (I forgot what they called it). He asked what was working and they said some words to indicate a particular blocking scheme. He said that he would relay that info to the "booth" and ask them to call plays that called for the schemes that were working. He then coached them on the ones that weren't working and talked about adjustments. It was an intense session spoken forcefully with confidence and authority.
2-- the players were all professional in appearance -- shirttails tucked in; helmets lined up, power aid distributed and some other little things.
3- Non players were intently (for the most part) watching the game. Spirit was high and visible. No disgruntled players stomping and pouting on the sidelines.
4-- That was the norm for both Brown and Sumrall.
I didn't see any of that last night except for a maybe some coaching (I was in the upper deck) but not for very long and it certainly didn't look intense. I did see at least one player stomping around and waving his arms until some coach finally calmed him down.
Those things have nothing to do with youth, inexperience, or injuries. We are five games into the season. There aren't any new players on that team and they have almost a half season of experience.

I think some of this wishful thinking or what you want to believe is/isn’t happening. I know there was lots of coaching happening last night. You could see the coaches down there. Whether it was executed correctly or not, I don’t know. As for “professional appearance”, do you remember what Budda Jones looked like last year? Dude, was a heck of a player but wore biker shorts and a tube top during games!

I don't wanna beat a dead horse, but this team is obviously not very good. First year coach, new(ish) staff, gutted roster. Fine. I thought this was a 6-6/5-7 team at best in the preseason ... it's clear now we might be headed towards a 2-10 year. Miserably bad. No real excuses for Troy to ever be 2-10 bad. Hopefully that doesn't happen, but I can't find many teams on the schedule we're better than right now. Maybe USM? Maybe Ark State? Maybe.
That said, I'm just doing my best to root on the team each week and hope Parker and company can put the pieces together next year.
