New staff quirks I know..
At the end of the day though HC GP gets his first WIN as a Trojan tonight (and overall) so that's something I won't be angry with.

Great to see our Trojans get a win! I took a detour to see Ray Lamontagne, but I should be back in The Vet next week to see us begin our conference journey. Godspeed Trojan Warriors!

this has to be a record for flags thrown in a game...or at least a drive. CRAZY 13 flags on FAMU 12 flags on Troy (125 yards)

1) We have to clean it up. 12 penalties (if my memory serves me right) for 120+ yds won't get it done. Some of the penalties were the result of trying to be aggressive through the whistle, some were dumb (multiple holding calls, though until the second half, the refs didn't realize the Rattlers had hands that could, and would, grasp, and some were bogus (the running into the kicker penalty, for those who didn't see it, occurred when their punter kicked the ball and had BOTH feet firmly planted on the ground and our rusher, who was at least 5 yards away hen the kicker got his feet down, ran to him and PUSHED him down, using his hands as he would if he were blocking for the returner. Bogus call, MO.
2) We Made adjustments at the half that allowed the offense to begin to do some things, but we can't win games if we wait until the 3rd quarter to play ball.
3) 2 of our touchdowns came of of what I consider great play calls. The first, was a quick slant to Dontae off of an off tackle play fake - an off tackle play we had run all night with success. Their LBs bit on the fake and Ross had an acre of green grass in the middle of the field. The second was the 97 yard go route from our own 3. They had man coverage on Ross outside with safety help over the top and Ross out ran the DB and the safety to have Goose drop a dime in his hands. Ross caught the ball on the 45, so Goose had probably 50-55 yards of air under the pass (drop distance + distance from middle of field to sideline, plus the 42 yards from the line of scrimmage). Ball dropped right into Ross's hands and he never broke stride. Great execution of a gutsy call, from our own 3.
4) We have to clean it up.
5) We have to clean it up.
6) We have to ....well, you get my point.
7)We won, against a decent FAMU team that started a TON of 6 year grads and grad transfers. Somebody who heard the radio post game may remember how many, but I can't, I just remember it was a ton.
On to defend our conference title.

Their QB missed at least 6 or so open guys plus a drop or two. I know we had a couple of drops but we need to have the intensity without the stupidity that we have shown at times. Congrats for the win but???

A win is great but we didn't beat a good team. We beat a below average HBCU who's two wins prior were by one point over power house Norfolk St and four points over mighty SC State. We will see shortly how we stack up against the Sun Belt but we have a lot of improvement needed to win a championship

I’ve been quiet all season not stating my opinions because it’s a new team new staff ect ect. As long as I see growth and maturity each week I’m fine, example Neal browns first season (4-8). But why on gods green earth is Green RB2? Damian Taylor should be toting the rock 20 attempts a game. And if not him I rather see jarris Williams or Jordan Lovett get the carries.

Was okay in person.. refs were a damn look at me show. Also can we stop playing these hbcu, the crowds these bring in are less than desirable At least the HBCU bring much larger CROWDS than any other teams we play, even our Sunbelt Conference/Regional opponents. So say what you REALLY want to SAY. There was more than 29,000 fans inside the stadium the 4th largest in Troy history and additional 2000 outside of the stadium. When I walked in the North Endzone on yesterday, we have lost our edge, the Trojan walk was unprofessional with our players in shorts and T-Shirts, the team is undisciplined on the field, there is no energy on the sidelines, and this staff is terrible on adjustments. However, there is HOPE, Demarcus Ware did stopped by earlier this week and bought the Team suits to bring a little professional back. Our students section was awesome throughout the game even though the poor football play. I brought a guess with me and he thought we were undefeated from the energy in the stadium and I told him we haven't won a game. However, I got a chance to see designs of the new Indoor Practice Facility.

I should not respond so quickly on how I think things are with the team. So, upon further review:
Nevada played one and we made mistakes and even coaching mistakes but lose a close one.
Memphis good team that I am sorry but was helped by refs for 10-17 points) plus off the bench center and QB’s. They at home lots of experience and we are still young.
Iowa we played hard and intense with some big plays in it till late and progress shown in loss.
There is a reason why college teams often look schizophrenic in different games because they have things that get in their heads. Ask Memphis versus Navy.
Now FAMU: our team young but still thinking: we are FBS and we are improving so you guys should just lay down because we are still better than you. That thought creeps into immature team and there you go. The fighting and undisciplined was egged on by “how dare you fight back’. I know that many or some will disagree but this coming week we play ULM with 2 wins and conference. I think that oddity of having the superiority complex won’t be there. The team we see Saturday the 28th will be our real team. Will it be: A) the growing team of Memphis and Iowa …. B) We really are undisciplined and immature and not too good.
I think A. You can not under emphasize the unbelievable non consistent minds of non seasoned athletes.

Those two players were both in street clothes yesterday, so yeah. I did not see Lovett but like you said Williams was hurt have they been out all season? Because even week 1 they had green listed RB1 and Taylor listed 2nd and looking back now that was a mistake. Green just doesn’t seem to have the IT factor and has not been impressive at all. Taylor atleast makes this Oline look like all Americans when their not getting called for holding.

Looking at box scores, Taylor has started the last two games. Why do people want to try and make things there that simply aren’t. And he couldn’t start the Memphis game because of the targeting.

I really like Tucker Kilcrease. He's shifty and very quick, very similar to Grayson McCall in his prime.
I'd like to see more of him, especially a combination of his passing and running abilities.

I find it quite interesting that the game threads after encouraging performances (Iowa/FAMU) are considerably shorter than the ones for lackluster games.
Almost as if there a few posters here that want bad things to happen so they can feel important and complain.
