I’m making plans for the upcoming season and don’t want to have my hotel voices limited by room availability. For those of you who have gone in the past, what are the best lodging options?

I don’t remember where we stayed in 2016 (I think we ended up driving back that night), all I remember is how soaked we all were, BUT the win made us forget about that. In 2021, we stayed the next exit down from campus at Quality Inn & Suites (it was fine). This year we wanted to stay closer to campus and food options so we have already booked Avid Hotel. Wanted Hotel Indigo (closest property to stadium), but it is already sold out. Choices definitely become limited the closer to football season 👍🏼

I was at the Quality Inn one time, as well. It was a fine place to stay.

I flew into Jackson. Stayed at a Hampton Inn in Jackson and drove to the game from there.

There are a lot of suitable hotels that are located at the 59/98 junction which is about 2.5 miles from the stadium. That’s a little far for this old fart and his Weather hip to walk. What is parking like around the stadium? Plentiful? Easy to access? A nightmare? Parking for the game may be a key factor in where I choose to stay.

We parked next to a gigantic sink hole in a gravel lot last game in H-Burg and then walked to the alumni tailgate and then to the stadium. Seemed like the same distance as parking behind the library at Troy and walking to The Vet.

The gravel lot mentioned is “Hillcrest Gravel Lot” located (in GREEN) at the top of their Game Day Parking Map … www.usm.edu/parking-transit-services/2022_football_game_parking.pdfWe have parked there the past two visits Troy made to USM.
