Shame on Johnny Williams and the planners. 15,000 tickets sold and "Double the crowd that they expected?" Wake up Buddy! You're in the DATA NOW age, or can't you read? C'mon man, you expect anyone to buy that?? Unfortunately, these types of SNAFUS give all of Alabama a "black eye" in the public's view. Kudos to the GATA fans for showing up and supporting The Eagles!!

It was a great crowd from what it looked like on TV. I guess this goes in the category of too many bowl games. Does Montgomery need a bowl game? Even with the upgrades it's not a great venue to me

Going to miss all these bowls one playoffs start - great games this week and last Texas in all white and burnt orange - very nice But not as nice as the power T and any uni combo OU and FSU was AWESOME. 3 pt game decided by a FSU FG with 55 seconds to play. They had to play defense for 55 more seconds and they got it done.

Pig wins 55-53 but not without thrilling defensive collapse by Pig in the 4th (and a hugely bad call). The UCF loss to Duke earlier that day was heartwarming. Darn, the Spouse asks every morning "Who's playing in Bowl games today??!!" A very nice and exciting extra few weeks of college football. "Honey, who's getting the beer today??!" Regarding Sunbelt Teams, Troy had as good a venue at as good a time slot that was available given the SBC tie-ins.

And remind all your SBC friends that the Belt is 1-0 against ranked opponents this bowl season. It will fill them with pride and then anger them deeply. hahaha

Tulane has a decent offense and very good defense. Southern Cal's players are bailing and the crowd is whining. Could be huge for the Greenies. Former HC of Sunbelt partner GASO, Willie Fritz is in his 6th season as Tulane's HC. "Fritz has had a truly historic and magical 2022 season. He defeated then No. 22 CFP ranked UCF on Saturday by a 45-28 score to capture the school's first-ever American Athletic Conference (AAC) title and earn Tulane its first appearance in a major bowl game since 1940 with the upcoming trip to Arlington, Texas to play in the 87th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic against USC. The school's last appearance in a major bowl game was the Sugar Bowl." tulanegreenwave.com

Ok, here's TBB's opinion on bowl games. I value a SBC Championship above any bowl game. No contest.
As for bowl games, our bowl worked out pretty well. We had two ranked conference champions playing in a destination city. That's great except with the number of garbage bowl games out there, we got a terrible date and time. So what, now what? I think conference champions should automatically get into some sort of playoff. After that, I think you should have 8 wins at a minimum for a bowl game. Also, bowl games should not start until after Christmas. Heck, college football shouldn't start until October, but that's cause I sweat at The Vet.
So how do you pick who plays who and where? Let's do some sort of AGT or The Voice type voting on matchups. Let the fans decide. Once the matchup is settled, bowls can bid like an auction to get the teams.

I think we have 7-5 with the 6-6 guys would be like the APR 5-7 teams so that alone takes us down around 32 bowls. When expanding playoffs will account for about 4 more bowls. So, less but not too many. I like all the bowls.
