We can’t afford pads for the sled? We need these guys tough. Pads are for losers. also the padless metal potential gives them something smaller to aim for. Purposeful intentional use.

PERSONAL OPINION: I think that CardinalBlackTrojan has made the correct observation. What really comes to my mind having worked with 17-25 year olds since I was one, this “body transformation” usually takes place the summer between senior in high school and fall semester of freshman year! What we are seeing is an example of the VISIBLE difference between the coach that came AFTER XHCNB and HCJS. You know the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. First, I hear what you guys are spouting. And I am all for letting the best man win, don’t care who as long as we win. BUT, don’t care what anyone thinks, HCJS didn’t bring in the 4 star cat from California via Utah because he wanted some back-up competition at QB. In lieu of major NIL cash, 4-star cat is going to get his promised playing time. Our program is not above promises and deals, it’s how the college football world works. 4-star California Cat will get several, several chances to proves himself regardless of what and how the next guy does. By no means was I implying that Gunnar Watson should be, or will be the starting QB. I want the best QB in. I was simply saying that it's nice to see Watson put in the physical work to be a better QB. It will only make Troy's QB room better. Costelli will have his hands full versus Watson who has FBS experience. Watson will have his hands full versus Costelli who has the speed of an NFL wide receiver.

You and I were on the SAME page / thought! That, the body change, was what my follow up thoughts were supporting!

Smart concept of using the 2 Padless for their hands while using the other 3 (padded) with their body. No worries people, they’ve got it under control.

Fixed it for you. Our opponents will be wearing pads (padding is for comfort) , we will be wearing ARMOR, (armor is for battle). 3 weeks to go and I'm already in game day form.

Here's a few more tidbits I've noticed...
- Tyler Harvey-Fallows (JUCO) is taking a big portion of the reps at RG with the ones. - Jabre Barber made several circus catches today, including a big leaping grab over a DB, in one-on-ones. - Quayde Hawkins started the first two days working some with the trainer and not doing much team work. He's easing back into team drills now. - Costelli got as many reps with the 1s as I've seen so far this camp today. He made a play in red-zone drills at the end of practice where he took a draw for a TD, outrunning multiple guys who had the angle on him. - Sumrall is high on Tucker Kilcrease. He has no fear at throwing into the teeth of that defense. - There are multiple defensive packages to get Solomon and Jibunor on the field together. - They were as physical and fired up today as I've seen so far, not just the defense either. The offense, especially the line, is playing with a little bit of a mean streak. The backs are absolutely not afraid to put their head down against this defense either, all of them.
I'll have a story on the way they're staying cool sometime this week, which is pretty cool.

Thanks for sharing. I am getting pumped up reading the update . Also please hurry up and tell us how they are staying cool. It is so hot in Florida and I might try what they are doing to stay cool.

I am curious as well but my understanding is that it is a refrigerated truck that they just walk thru and it is freezing in there. Maybe they walk thru twice? All in all, while we do not have a IDPF, to say that getting use to the heat and humidity is not an advantage for the first two or three games to the teams that practice in climate control is not true. It is going to be a hot and muggy one in Oxbow Miss. So, here is to sweating a lot and using a meat truck to cool off.
