Good dodge, but still a dodge. Nah. Our group did come up with pretty good ones, some were way out their. If you have to ask your customer could they list out any of good things you did for them, instead of being able to walk in and being able list out all the great, new and inventive items you produced for them, You lost. So can you name one out of the box idea our admin has executed to make the program bigger and better. For over 40 years, our pivately owned S-Corp solicited input/suggestions from customers and employees for organizational improvement. At times, we were humbled, other times "Aha" perspectives were borne that laid the groundwork for a now Fortune 500 organization. Many WON! Participative management, brainchild rooted in the 1950's. Get out of the woods buddy.

All sports besides football TROY can compete for national titles. We have hurdles to overcome but the sports other than football are built for any team with right leadership and player mix to make consistent deep runs into the respective tournaments. Football is an entirely different conversation because it is designed currently for the power 5 schools with the most money to dominate. TROY can compete with anyone again with the right mix of leadership and player talent. Someone mentioned it but I will echo… TROY can NEVER afford to botch a hire for the following programs in order of importance: 1 Football 2 Mens Basketball 3 Womens Basketball 4 Mens Baseball 5 Womens Softball These are the most watched and recognized sports that TROY participates in. We CANNOT afford even 1 year of mediocrity in any of them and that starts with making sure we always hire the very best person for the money we have to spend. You think Mens and Womens can compete for NC and/or make deep runs into the tournament? Football might have better odds just due to less games having to be played. Baseball, yes could compete.

One of the things that was done several years ago is The Power T I think we made a great move renaming the University from Troy state to Troy but we had alot of logos and we were not creating an identity. Now although we have several logos to choose from, clearly the Power T is the most Recognizable I agree. The marketing aspect of the power T along with dropping state and focusing on all caps TROY was a great move. Here's another marketing/fan friendly initiative... just announced yesterday. troytrojans.com/news/2022/6/15/general-troy-athletics-partners-with-paciolan-for-ticketing-marketing-solutions.aspx"Troy Athletics will leverage Paciolan's email digital marketing and marketing platform, PAC Mail, to better engage, interact, and communicate with fans, students, and alumni. This integrated marketing tool will allow staff to target email marketing messages based on previous purchase history, attendance, and preferences to customize communications for each fan to offer the best fan experience and buying purchase experience possible." Event ticketing will integrate into the Troy Athletics website powered by SIDEARM Sports. The integration provides Troy fans with instant access to information about remaining ticket inventory and pricing on athletics web pages, including the schedule page. As a partner, Troy receives Paciolan's signature service and support. The athletics staff will team up with a highly experienced client partner, an ecommerce operations specialist, and a marketing specialist who will help with strategic planning, sharing best practices, and consulting on the use of Paciolan tools."

We have a long way to go.

Troy has been middle of the pack but our conference is a much tougher place to win and it’s not CUSA thank goodness.Tech,Western Kentucky and MTSU are in a pickle and the top is screwed on tight.I’m excited about the fan base experience with the new conference foes.Control your game day and fan base and you are winning regardless of conference championships

a few years back i had heard that Troy wanted to Model their program after Boise St because of the success they had as a G5 . Other Programs like BYU, Cincinnati, have also had great success. My question is what are they doing to maintain success? i think we were in the conversation while Neal was here so perhaps it ultimately comes down to coaching and the culture that coach brings with him. Perhaps If JS gets us back to winning conference championships and top 25 we need to do what it takes to keep him or we need to be grooming the next coach now for 2025

Disagree. Coastal Carolina won the CWS a few years back and I believe SUNY-Long Island made it or won it also. ULL has made the WCWS and look at St Peter's run in March Madness just this year. Basketball you need 5 good players with some back ups, baseball 8 good players and about 5 pitchers. Football you need 22 good players and 22 good back-ups. Now can Troy be a Boise, Western Michigan or Cincy this past season? Yes, but it is way, way more difficult than basketball or baseball

It will be hard to judge Jon this first year as he is taking over a train wreck as compared to if we had hired him in 2019. We shall see. I have the utmost confidence in HCJS until he proves otherwise.

And said basketball could due to the team size. I agree with your summary.

If he is as good as been touted as we should win and win a lot this year. This team has a boatload of talent. That is not an issue. Although every programs situation and circumstances are different, the schools that you mention do not have the built in limitations that Troy has. It’s why we need to think and act out of the box. And yes, winning championships solves a majority of your problems.

Guys... we made a mistake, a huge mistake. I will be bold and say it, if we would have hired Sumrall instead of fester, we would have at least 2 SBCs, 3 bowl wins, and a P5 win. We would probably be looking for a coach as Sumrall would be vaulted to the SEC. We are in good hands now and we can expect great things.

They have much larger alumni/fan bases than Troy. Cincy is right in the middle of a major metropolitan area while Boise is also in a major city while BYU is just a different beast itself with its tie-ins to the Mormon church.

Cincy is in a unique situation. Ohio has one major school (Ohio St) and some mid level MAC schools (Akron, Miami, Toledo and Kent St) with the only one having facilities is Akron and they can never win. Michigan is just North with Michigan and MSU and several directional MAC schools. PA only has Penn St and Pitt so they are getting the players not quite good enough for Big 10 and better than MAC.
