Listened to the radio broadcast. Lots of defense with some bright spots at running back. Good to see Charles Strong getting some playing time.

I didn’t get to see much of the game unfortunately. TBBJR had to hang with T-Roy, hug the cheerleaders, and bounce in the castle. I had so much fun being back in The Vet. My daughter complained that I was talking to “everyone.” It was great just talking to strangers about HCJS and the upcoming season.

We had a great time. Good prices on the apparel and things. Charles strong lived up to his last name he ran Strong. Hawkins played well along with the defensive back field. I was impressed with Peyton Higgins looks like a real good player

T-Day scrimmage usually leaves cornhole with more ?? than answers. Today no different.
Lots of issues to sort out on the field. Good thing that staff has four months to work on it.
BTW, Attendance reported at 22,125. Most were in line for the yard sale.

Thoughts and observations: 1) The #1 defense is considerably ahead of the #1 offense. That is frequently the case at the end of spring practice, more so when a new offense is being installed 2) The #2 defense has some work to do 3) Jarris Williams is legit 4) Until such time as it is proven to not work, Charles Strong should get as many touches as any other back. He's good for at least 5 yards of bulldozer advancement every time he touches the ball. Heaven's he's a beast 5) Both Watson and Hawkins can throw the ball very deep, but neither were accurate with the long ball today 6) For those of us who grew up without PlayStation, which allows everybody who picks up a controller to score 50+ in a game, this offense is going to be fun to watch 7) The Athletic Garage Sale was the bomb. The selection of stuff was unbelievable, the prices were beyond fair, and A LOT of money was raised for the Athletic Department to use to advance TROY athletics.
It was a great day, great weather, and a great crowd.

Impression: (My grades are where we are with them now NOT necessarily how yesterday was as to play D1 : good to really good (Grade A) D2: parts good I know Javon is really really good but depth could be a little light at all positions. Grade B O 1: we be havin some works to do but bright spot is RB’s frankly maybe overstocked. The Higgins kid will be finding his way on the field. Grade: C+ to B - O 2 see above Grade C to C+ Kicking game Punter A for Aussie Grade Kicker B- to B
Do I think the overall effort yesterday was good yep. School put on a FANtastic day Big shout out to HCJS and OCJC for help with a special request.
TROY is a goooood hands Plus good to see friends and meet some new folks Again thanks to the whole staff and all those associated with yesterday. Was great!

Remember Kimani only played for about 1 minute and 3 seconds. Coach Sum made it clear that he would not see much action Is this due to injury? HCJS stated at the Legends Lunch that several starters would see limited action to avoid risk of injury.

I did notice that Kimani didn't play much and that would probably have increased the effectiveness of the first team offense. I think the running back stable is loaded. Much like pitching in baseball, you can never have too many quality running backs, given the pounding they take and the possibility that they could go out with an injury at any time. The offense will be fine, and as I've said before, I will enjoy watching the pound the ground style it appears we will run.

Spring practice has changed dramatically since I played and for the better. We had the whole month of May, full pads-full contact every day M-F and scrimmage on Sat. Basically all it was good for was 5 or 6 knee surgeries, a few concussions, broken bones etc. Personally I thought it should be abolished (D3 never allowed it) but under the current rules it does what it was intended for (player evaluations). Glad to see us holding key players out of contact when necessary. Getting them injured in Spring is foolish

Remember Kimani only played for about 1 minute and 3 seconds. Coach Sum made it clear that he would not see much action Is this due to injury? Due to "we know how good he is, how good he will be and how quickly an injury can ruin things" There are 2 dudes who had nothing to prove to anybody, Kimani and Carlton (#NIL). Everyone knows what they are capable of and they know exactly what to do and what not to do.

Now that T-Day and Spring Ball are over players have a better understanding of where they might be on the depth chart and with our coaching staff. With that said, "Once a Trojan, Always a Trojan!", best of luck to these guys who popped up on my Twitter today announcing their entry into that dirty word ...
Ollie Finch Kyran Griffin-Isom Ivan Shultz
Godspeed!

I was able to grab my old baseball jersey from my days with the team. That was cool I thought they retired your number . I get very upset every season I see my old number being worn in football. I can't understand why it hasn't been retired 🤣
