It's unfortunate how today's game went. The shots just would not fall for the guys. And they weren't bad shots.
I'm still happy that the team is 20-11 though. 20+ wins makes for a very good season.
These guys deserve a postseason bid somewhere. Obviously the NIT is out of reach, but the CBI and the CIT are in play.

Per some people in the know and I mean Athletic Department connections, we would not get a bid to any post season tourney unless we win the tournament. Now, is this true, I have no idea but I would agree that 20 wins at least gets on post season game - then we survive and advance.
Go Troy and it was a very good season.

I've got confirmation that Troy has already been invited to both the CBI and CIT tournaments, and that it's up to the players to decide if they want to play in one of them or not.

Is it worth it to the athletic dept and team. I'm sure the costs greatly out seed the money and there is a risk of injury to what amounts to a glorified participation trophy tournament. Not diminishing a very improved season or the team but if it isn't the Big Dance or NIT imo I don't see the point. But if the players want to do it let them play and try to win it

There's no difference between a bowl game against a MAC school and the CBI/CIT... It still allows the team to get extra practice in, it helps with recruiting, and it gives the team a chance to hoist a trophy. A crappy North Texas won the CBI a few years ago, and they used it to their advantage in many ways. They used it as a spring board to raise the profile of their basketball program. UNT also had their highest ever single-game attendance when they played San Francisco in the finals.

Yes, they opted out of the WBI in 2018, but that was because that team had so many injuries to the lineup... there was no way they could've survived a postseason tournament. That may have been a coaching staff decision.

I don’t think money is an issue for a post season tournament. We are building for a big time future, now that my 4 figure donation is back.
