I'm in no way making a prediction, I'm just letting my mind wander (that's dangerous) while sitting at home on call today. Here are two possible scenarios related to TROY and post season play, and neither of the are all that far fetched.
1) TROY wins the Sun Belt Championship and is shown love by the bracket masters, given a 15 seed. Auburn Wins the reg Season SEC title but not the tourney, or vice versa, and ends up a 5 seed.
2) TROY wins the Belt and isn't shown any love, ends up seeded 16, AU wins the regular season and the SEC tourney and ends up a 1 seed.
If either of these occurs, the bracket masters could decide to throw a bone to the state and place TROY and AU in the same region, meaning they would play each other in the first round. I'm not sure how prone to placing the two teams in the same region the bracket masters would be, but its a possibility.
This TROY team is not the same one that lost to AU in early December last year, nor is this AU team the same one that beat TROY - they are both better. As well as Efe and Zay have played this year, and as well as Duke has been at distributing the ball, I'm afraid that the probable # 1 draft pick (Jabari Smith), one of, if not the, best big men in BB (7"1" Walker Kesler), and guard Wendall Green, Jr would give the aforementioned TROJANS fits that would lead to nightmares. I would love to see us play AU, and I would be screaming my lungs out for the Men of TROY, but that would be a monstrous challenge for our guys. I welcome your thoughts, insights, cries of outrage...
