App state on the road then Marshall at home. Lafayette on the road back home against Army. Wow!! It looks like a tough road. But it's only March

App and Marshall. Well it helps the SOS. Better have our hats on those first 4 games. I am not saying the rest of the year will be a cake walk but out of the gate we are going to see who we are for sure.

I think unless Louisiana stays on the right track after the coaching change, we have a pretty good chance at winning the west. I’m excited.

Look at Louisiana schedule absolutely trash. Eastern Michigan? Rice? It's hard to believe but Florida state? Not the program it once was. I am pleased with the schedule this gives us a great home schedule with Marshall and Army.

This looks like the toughest schedule we’ve had in a long time! I’d like to see the strength of schedule ranking! Also If they market the army game properly to Fort Benning and Fort Rucker it should be a sell out!

It didn't materialize, however. maybe aggressive marketing can help bring it about.

Also If they market the army game properly to Fort Benning and Fort Rucker it should be a sell out! Totally agree, trojanmatt! We need to get as many of our local Army Posts soldiers and military veterans into the Vet. The game is scheduled for Veterans Day weekend so we could make this a real special time for our military, our students, and our fans. I noticed that Army is playing four Sun Belt games this season. Since they’re an independent, like Notre Dame, we should make an agreement with Army like the ACC has done with the Irish. It would help them as much as the Belt. We have a challenging schedule in 2022, but we have a great opportunity to get fannies in the seats at the Vet and make a statement in the Western Division. Looking forward to seeing the product that Coach Sumrall and his staff will put on the field in 2022! Go Troy!

Army game imo is the toughest. We play them late and we will have multiple spread teams and then them. Fortunately our DC has seen it alot. Hope we are healthy at that point. Plan on being there in honor of my father in law (Ret Army Lt Colonel) who passed away in December. Should be a big crowd also. Go Troy!! Beat Army!!!

I know some of you were really happy about moving to the west division, but I wasn't. I know there are some good things about it like regular regional opponents like Southern Miss, and less travel time and money, but I was really conscious of the appearance that it would have to the general public. I know with the realignment it made sense to move us there but it looks like Troy wanted to escape the Big Bad East division and only have to think about ULL and an occasional stAte team when they have a good year. How long did it take after the divisional realignment before the east started in with "The west better step up!" (paraphrasing)? No time.
With Neal Brown we competed all day in the east and App needed refs to beat us - MY OPINION! The appearance this all has now is the work (or lack thereof) of the one who shall not be named.
I think Sumrall is going to put Troy football back where it belongs, and ULL is going to maintain their current level. The rest of the west has their coaches in place and ready to advance, but it may take a miracle for Texas State. Hopefully we (the west) can all be competitive again really soon.
Rant complete.

We were going to be moved and basically at this time would not argue at all against your points. My guess is East to West and back and forth will “Likely” happen more easily in the G5 due to coaching changes with good play etc. I am just happy with our additions and WE have App and Marshall out of the gate so I like our schedule this year and as long as the guys play as intense as HCJS seems to be we will be in a much better spot then when Captain Bed Pan was wondering about pretending to be a coach.

Troy "wanted to" escape the Big Bad East?? Not sure Troy had a choice in the matter. Troy football needs to stay focused on beating hell out of whoever is on the schedule and winning the Conference Championship. Appearances are just someone's imagination running astray??

You and I both know there was no choice in the matter but appearances mean something. Ask the casual sports fan, ask the HS players being recruited.

If a HS football player is both cerebral and also dumb enough to factor in his belief that Troy desired to leave a division of the Sun Belt because it would be too tough, we should wish him well. No need to bring that level of cray cray banana bread to campus.
