Not advocating for him as the coach, but you are missing a couple of things. He has already been an FBS coordinator at both Georgia Tech and Miami. Had success at GT, was hailed as a great recruiter. Did not have success at Miami, but under Randy Shannon, who did. Was OC at Samford when they put up massive offensive numbers in the old SoCon. Also the team he is playing tonight has four defensive players who are top 50 recruits over the next two years. Two have already committed to Alabama and two more will probably go next year. Thompson has the best players and coaches money can buy at any high school. So don't hold those things against him. I'm not a fan of him and would not be my choice as head coach, may make a good OC. Other than tonight his teams score big. But, need to fully understand his resume and what he is up against tonight before using those two things against him. And when he was at Henderson State he was about 27 years old and had a total of three years of coaching experience. Things came too early to him.

I don't judge anybody on 3 hours of their career I WILL not support that hire. If he wants to coach offense so be it if our head coach hires him His dad coached Northside Warner Robins in GA and was a great one TROY CAN DO BETTER - Troy should expect better

So basically you just don't like Patrick, or any Auburn guy, which I understand. I think Troy has gone to the Auburn well too often.
But it isn't his resume. I was just pointing out that people who said that nothing in his resume qualifies him to be an FBS OC, didn't look close enough or forgot that he had been a successful OC at both the FCS and FBS level and was considered by many to be one of the top recruiters when at GT with many disadvantages. Others were judging him on his game tonight, which is against what is far and away the best team in the state. Hoover is the only team with the athletes to come close to Thompson, and they did get them once, but not close the 2nd time.
I'm not a fan of Patrick, but make sure facts are straight when making statements is all I am saying. And remember, Larry Blakeney was just a running back coach before he was chosen by a couple of people on the Troy board. And Neal Brown was just the WR coach at Kentucky, not OC, when he was hired at Troy. You take a chance with any coaching hire - especially at a school like Troy, and hope the people doing the hiring does their due diligence and makes a solid informed decision.

Maybe its McGee or the guy from Bammer...both don't scream young to me and are in the Championship game this weekend. But McGee has a serious record of success(9 yrs and a state title) at Central High in Columbus and was interim HC at 1st Disttict A&M when they won their first bowl game in Mobile. The guy from Bammer seems like Chip2.0 but what do I know.
I have full faith that Brent is doing whatever he can to make this a homerun and is reaching out to various groups, not just ex-football players. Very impressed with his attitude during this. No leaks means he probably isn't even telling his wife.

McGee might be an ULL candidate (some speculation on other boards)

Candidates are Sumrall, Charles Kelly, Tommy Robinson and Kevin Steele. Nix is not a leading candidate but there was some consideration.
