I’m a fan of the ODU pickup and JMU for that matter, but I definitely think they benefit more from SBC than vice versa. Interested to see what upgrades they make with a better conference behind them.

Any conference that wants UAsB more than us is not a conference I care to join. Markets be damned, they’ll never have the intangibles for good football that we possess. lol. You serious. In Birmingham vs Troy. Major world class medical facility and school. Brand new stadium. I don’t like UAB but be real. UAB will win “the better option” for a conference everytime in conference realignment.

Just luke warm here. Not a great geographical fit. Virginia? Sunbelt?? Just further to travel if/when the game demands.

I could read on paper that UAsB built a new football stadium that seats 47K and be impressed. But then I could go and watch the game on tv (had to remember what channel CBS even was. What a great deal CUSA has!) and I once again found that they all could have sat on one side of the stadium for the GRAND OPENING. Football will always be about engagement.

That is a bad move by Liberty. They should have stayed independent or come to the belt. NM state is awful and so is UConn.

UCONN New Mexico State and Liberty to CUSA Poor Liberty Road trip for NMSU to fly to UConn for 5,000 fans and flight for UConn to Area 51 to play in front of 3,000 fans. Great move

This has been an interesting development and sets the SunBelt up for a great future in my opinion. Having Southern Miss and Marshall in the SBC is a really good move (2 of my favorite TROY in game memories against these 2 teams). ODU and JMU will prove fruitful as well.

Best move they can make. MAC is a good fit for WKU and the MUTS don't have a choice and their administration really could care less about sports. They will be competitive in the MAC which is hands down the weakest FBS football conference

They will be competitive in the MAC which is hands down the weakest FBS football conference If MTSU and WKU go to the MAC, this will be the end for CUSA. Having lived in both Murfreesboro and Bowling Green, they will be a better fit playing in the MAC simply based on geography. UTEP and FIU are so far away that this would be better for their budget and their fanbase. I wonder if their suffering from buyers remorse?😀

UCONN New Mexico State and Liberty to CUSA Poor Liberty No reason to ever feel sorry for Liberty. They can stew in whatever they made for themselves.
