The defense has improved drastically!!
As much of a hard time they’ve had the last 2 years with an adequate offense we would be 3-0 right now. Maybe just maybe we are hitting our stride with the defensive staff. Kudos to DC Brandon Hall for the reversal of trajectory.
They will keep us in games and potentially give a win we otherwise shouldn’t/wouldn’t get.

This is a winnable game, but we've thought that about other winnable games (BYU, Mizzouri, etc.) only to get blown out.

If only the offense could move the ball and score points outside the first and last drive of the game. Thankful the defense has kept us in games (Liberty and Southern Miss) and hoping they do the same at SC.

As I watch the first half of the southern miss game it seemed like I was watching a repeat of liberty game ! Other than the fact that we didn’t score 7 points on the first drive! Our defense seem to be on the field a long time! Thank goodness we were able to start keeping the ball on the second half so the defense didn’t get tired! That will be the problem against teams like South Carolina, coastal , Ap and Louisiana! Hopefully the office of genius can figure out how to get this offense rolling!

After the way the defense played last week, yes, they EARNED the title TMTDM! Well done Coach Hall and staff and well done to the student athletes that earned us a W.

Time of possession of 1st half was close to the same - it seemed like our d was on the field much longer but that was not the case
Our D is badass - they are. They act like it, they play like it, they wil get after you

Defense does looked improved ,I temper my thoughts with the fact that Southern Miss OL are FCS size and D2 athleticism.Maybe the worst D1A OL ATHLETICALLY I've seen in a while.ULM typically doesn't have a great OL so I look for continued penetration of a defense and TFL.Secondary looks more mature and not doing all the "look at me" stuff like last year..They are doing the job for the most part.
Our OL still not good at the point of attack.I noticed all OL are wearing knee braces this year....a Troy first.Troy was probably the last D1A school that did not brace their OL,I think that helped our quickness and pad level. As of five years ago,no study existed that said wearing knee braces reduced ACL/MCL injury and no PRO teams hardly brace their OL.No sure why we change our philosophy
