It's almost like he's happy even though we lost. We played good, etc. This is NOT the attitude I want to see in a coach!

He says the same thing after every loss. "Tough opponent hate we didn't get the job done we have a lot to learn from this" Dang by now (The HC we don’t speak of) should be a genius

I am not giving up on the season yet
Not a conference loss - hopefully the loss makes us much better down the road Conference Division Title - still attainable Conference Title - still attainable Bowl Eligibility - Still attainable Bowl Win - Still attainable
Victory over CUSA opponent - possible Victory over SEC opponent - possible
A lot a football to play men - See you Saturday! We still have a lot to cheer for.

The views expressed in this post are only those of Trojans1andAll. Trojans1andAll makes no suggestion or implication that these are views of anyone else.
(The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) is the worst coach in Troy history. He is worse than Robert Maddox.
Why?
Because at least Robert Maddox cared. He had no idea how to run a college program, but at least you believed he was trying his best and wanted the best for the program. To me, he was the Mark Smartt of football, or Mark Smartt was the Robert Maddox of baseball.
I haven't seen a single thing that makes me believe (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) cares about anything except cashing HC checks. Yeah, I know, I know, those nice pretty pictures holding hands with the players, how touching! Yeah, politicians put on camo and go to gun shops before they try to take them away from you. They go shake hands with the troops before cutting their budgets or worse.
(The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) thought he landed A**-backwards into a winner that Neal Brown made. He thought he was going to be at a low-tier P5 or at least a high-tier AAC/MW program by now. He never even dreamed he'd be two weeks into a 3rd season. That's why he looks clueless on the sideline. That's why he's clueless in the press conferences. That's why talent doesn't develop. That's why we lose more than we win. And that's why I want him gone.
Rant over.

My post was simply to show we still have a lot to play for and accomplish. Even if we do win our division, win our conference and a bowl game, (The HC we don’t speak of) is not the answer. Ran into a guy in Troy Sunday night and he gave me his coaching list - and he left our program 2 1/2 years ago because of the first experience with (The HC we don’t speak of) several years ago.
I can give you 50 negatives. Just simply posted that we can still have a successful season, which is a fact.

WE don't watch Press Conferences.
We DO enjoy Saturday college football with friends, tailgates and all the atmosphere surrounding same. We HATE to see our teams lose but we endured the last 4 years of ugliball with HCLB and we'll endure whatever this brings.. or not.
It ain't about us, or just a singular coach. Time's just too precious to sacrifice the opportunities with friends, supporting the athletes, the program and meeting new friends!!
Miss y'all in Hattie? We'll be there cheering!

(The HC we don’t speak of) is the second smartest coach in FBS ! He gets paid approx $750,000 whether he wins or loses and hasnât seemed to improve and really doesnât show that he cares! The smartest coach in all FBS would be Willie Taggert for sucking and getting a huge buyout and then getting more money from another institution just like (The HC we don’t speak of) will do after this year! 3rd smartest Will Muschamp!

I've edited from my original post as to not pile on,as our players need unity.
Neal Brown had disappointing loseses but they were not acceptable to him and you could tell it.I wish I saw more fire in our bellies in a losing presser.

We are stuck with (The HC we don’t speak of) until the end of the year no matter what our record winds up being. If we're looking to replace him then do we go find a red hot coach in FCS and bring them up to FBS or do we find an assistant coach to a great team who is looking to prove himself?

Would Jon Sumrall come this time? I don't know. I do know based on Twitter - not the be all, end all of information - that some folks in Morgantown are not happy with XHCNB. And no, I do not think he would come back to Troy, but Jon might be ready for a change.

I’d like to add that Neal Brown’s losses were rare. He produced the golden age of Troy football.

It's true that Troy has had success with SEC assistants but I think that time is running out. We need a huge culture change so we need an ambitious I-AA coach.

Itâs not about their background. Itâs about their structure, attention to detail, and willingness to put the work in to succeed.

While I agree that a culture change is probably needed, I think that it can come from many sources. It could come from a great assistant (SEC, P5, G5). It could come from an FCS HC. We should - IMHO - start looking. And we should keep it open to great coaches that have a program/process that seems to have a great fit with our university. And the coach needs to be a leader and surround himself with other leaders.

I know some have mentioned him here before and I know others won’t like it, but I’ll keep preaching Pete Shinnick until the day we hire him. In 3 years time he did what others will never accomplish in their entire career, and just last week beat Mcneese State on the road, punching up to FCS.
Just listen to press conferences and look at the way he handles himself and the responsibility of developing men, not football players. But while we’re on the subject, he’s done a terrific job of developing guys as great players as well.
