I have a question if someone can help with the information I'd appreciate it. I have a friend who's son is going to be in Troy the week of June 14th for the All star baseball tournament that is going to be played at Riddle Pace. he would like to talk with the football coaches while he is in town. He is a 6'5 4.4 wide receiver. How can I or my friend get a meeting or something with a coach without breaking any recruiting rules? Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Send an email to Duggan and C. Ross. Recruiting and HS relations Unless the rule has changed if you visit the campus at your own expense there is no harm. My dad did that with me when we on vacation in Tennessee, NC and Ohio we visited Wake Forest, TN Tech, Akron U, And Kent St. Granted that was 35 years ago but I still think you can do it as long as they haven't contacted you first

I would think his HS coach would have a contact person. I would have him reach out to them.
Also, he could go to a Troy football camp.

Please message Trojan by birth, he seems to have it figured out!
But if he is a fringe player, the coaches are probably gonna want to see him on the field. Kinda like…. all other programs

Kinda like…. all other programs You must be new here and not remember how lazy recruiting was under Blakeney. Players that eventually succeed elsewhere had no attention from Troy unless they attended the football camp. Under Brown, one coach described recruiting as meals behind a steering wheel. Brown was a winner, Fester is not.

Instead of making comments that you know are true, why don’t you answer the question and try to help the young man out?

As one tool in a bag of other recruiting strategies, camps can be quite successful in identifying little known or fringe HS Players that may develop into "super" contributors. I wonder if the likes of Jerrel Jernigan, Demarcus Ware or Carlton Martial attended Troy Football camps??

So I think we agree on what camps are for. Building relationships early and identifying lesser known players!
