Hello Trojans Fans.....What are your thoughts on the T-Day Game.
1. Which QB gives us the BEST chance at winning;
2. Status of the Offensive Line;
3. Is DK still on the team; and
4. Has our DB's improved.

The talk where we were setting was that Watson and Free looked better than Missouri Transfer, however with Chips Coaching it doesn’t matter! The running game has to improve and BJ looked like old form somewhat. Defense could be really good.

Watson and Free have stronger arms but #7 gets rid of the ball quicker and makes the correct reads and can run. There were several throws Watson and Free made that would have been sacks. That said Watson made a fantastic throw on that TD pass. Defense looked good on run but receivers were getting wide open albeit not deep wide open

Powell was sacked more than any of them.. just saying Wasn't able to watch the whole game as I had to meet my old roommate for lunch but #7 the first few series looked better. Hard to totally judge from a spring game. But one former player who is now a HS OC said he was most impressed with the reads on #7 but did say his arm wasn't as strong. Everybody commented on run game struggling early. That has to be corrected. He have to much experience up front to not be more physical

Neal Brown would DOMINATE with this talent!! I know looking back is not good but the debate would be about 9 wins with bowl game would be a bad season. Just 2 cents.

We had a HS Head Coach and Former NFL player in our area who said offense looked better behind Free and Watson! Also said we did not run the Ball very good! It all comes down to coaching and we are behind!

Was on the field during warm ups with another former OL that played after me. Same conclusion, we are not physical up front. New OL coach so I'll give him a break as he had to break two years of bad coaching but the curve is small. As far as qb situation I will agree that Watson and Free have better arms, the difference we saw was reads as both seem to hold the ball longer than the transfer but I'm not a qb coach either, just a dumb old offensive lineman. Defense needs work on pass rush and coverage, run games needs work. Positives are we have receivers with good speed and hands, OL pass protection looked good, defense looked good against our run game. A lot of talent. No excuses for not winning next season but there was no excuses for the last two seasons either. Another observation I got from the small group of former players from the 1970's to fairly current...not a single one had any respect or liked CL. He was suppose to speak in the SC but several players said " I don't want to listen to him" That is not a good thing because if that group felt that way you know donors and fans don't either. I had one guy I talked with I don't even know who he was but he was a Troy fan and lived here. His kids went to school with Neal's kids when he was here. He said NB wouldn't let him call him coach, went and ate around town just like a normal person and he said something that floored me..."you know what Neal has that this guy doesn't? Character.

Most of Powell's throws were check down's and outside the numbers. I don't know that he made any throws down the middle of the field (15-20 yards). He's more mobile. Nice touch on some of his passes but, he threw a lot off his back foot.

That is true but some of his check downs were the correct read and nobody was around and they picked up another 10 yards plus after the catch. Now how he throws the deep ball is unknown. I love the vertical pass game believe me but there is also a time to take what you are given. forcing throws into double coverage doesn't usually work although Watson threw a dime on that long TD throw. The reality is there are practice players and there are game players. Finding the player that is both is the challenge. I'm guessing we see all three a lot against Southern (although a scrimmage would be more talent). I would also guess if the named starter struggles against the Fighting Fallwells look to see a change. CL's head is on a platter this season and I can't see him sticking with a struggling QB
