A poster mentioned that there has never been a 15 or 16 seed ever advance past round one of the women's tournament. Imagine if we shock the country Mon and do that. It could literally change forever our WBB program. Coach Rigby has done a fantastic job but if she can do this it could set us up to be possibly the next Gonzaga maybe. We have the coach and we have the facility...this could be the boost we needed. Go Troy!!!

It'd certainly make Rigby's recruiting a little easier.

Was it not a few short years ago you questioned the cost and rationale of the Arena? $50 mill investments take long term perspective. Evidently you weren’t there then? ( I can locate your posts and paste them here).

I still believe to Hawkins the Arena was to have a showplace for graduations (thus the size) because we only draw less than half of the capacity. That said Rigby has done a phenomenal job of using both the facility for recruiting and her coaching skills. Now to get men's BB to that level would be great. I think next year might be the turning point for men's BB

I personally believe the arena was needed - for basketball but more importantly for graduation, conferences or however it may be used outside of basketball. I mean they play like 40 games a year in the place maybe.
The arena is also great for recruiting students who by the way, basketball players are students first (kind of). The arena was a great addition to our campus.

The arena was a great addition to our campus. Friend of mine who just retired as a Colonel made a statement that is so true. He said they no longer sell you on getting an education, they sell you on facilities and the college experience. It is every college doing it and I'm referring to regular students. That said where were all these facilities when I attended Troy lol

All of us hopefully will be cheering on the women’s team and supporting Troy to the best of our abilities. As said, the facilities have improved and they are very good. So this Monday we hopefully get to celebrate a historic occasion. All of us in spirit and lucky few in person. GO TROY!!!!
