If the NCAA offers an official apology, it needs to come with a check for $425,000 and a guarantee that anyone Troy calls has to schedule home games with us. Don't care if it's UConn, Baylor, N.C. State on back-to-back weekends. There will be no apology. The head of officiating for NCAA Basketball issued a statement saying (paraphrase): 1) Close play, as close as they come 2) In JUDGEMENT of the game officials, control was not gained by TAMU until the ball was in the backcourt, therefore it was a legal play 3) In what may be the most condescending, slap in the face statement I've ever heard from the NCAA, she said no person or camera had a better angle to view the play than the officials on the court. While there may not have been any person or camera closer to the play than the officials on the court, the sideline camera was positioned directly on the half court line and what it showed was obvious. It matters not how close the on the court official are to the play, if they screw it up, they should be called on it. Instead, the NCAA doubled down and told Lil Ole Bitty TROY to "sit down and shut up". It's not the first time that has happened, nor is it likely to be the last. From this point forward, it's "Havoc", and let slip the dogs of war!!

You might as well just say that replay in all sports is meaningless then. Refs screw up games ALL the time. Tonight was exhibit A.

Dear Jesus! It got worse on the over and back! What did I just witness!? Ironic that AD Jones was just recently appointed to the NCAA committee on sportsmanship and ethical conduct! Does this include ethical conduct by officials? The NCAA owes Troy an apology and this is not the first time!

Below is the link to a photo of the response. NOTICE the typo which serves as an example of how much time and effort they put into their investigation of the final minutes of this game!! pbs.twimg.com/media/ExIOlSNWUAIFlUd?format=jpg&name=largeOn a side note, it was interesting to see the outcry on social media from people NOT associated with The Trojan Nation.

I am so proud of our ladies but I am so upset with the officials! Had the officials showed up with their glasses, red tip cane and German Shepherd this game would have been won by Troy. They deceived everyone by hiding these items thus disquising the truth of their complete blindness. Absolute tragedy these ladies shot at history was taken by incompetent blind bafoons who have no business refereeing basketball at this level Being in this game despite 4 of 23 from 3 point line is amazing. If we hadn't been stone cold there we might have blew them out

The over-and-back was bad and gets all the attention because it was near the end of the game, but that charge call with 53 seconds left was the true backbreaker.
That response just proves that all of the mid-tier schools need to break away and form their own governing association. Some may wonder how the money would work, but with the booming of streaming services, I think it can. $15 a month with a take rate of about 40% from alums and fans from almost 300 Division I schools outside of the Power 5 is a whole lotta dough. Heck, universities could offer it as a perk for contributing to the athletic fund or the alumni association.

Hard to say what would have happened after that. Spit happens and NCAA Refs got a lot of slobber.

I could sleep last night after watching a game stolen away from us by the officials! I am so tired of officials affecting the outcome of so many important games for the Trojans, mostly football examples. Safety at SC called a touchback, phantom Pass interference against Duke, controversial call against Trojans at LSU ,2 fumbles given back to Clemson! What’s the point? It is about respect. I believe the only way you can beat these teams is to take the officials out of the equation and not let them decide the game! Doesn’t matter what sport it is, the NCAA does not respect the group of 5 teams and it shows in the officiating! On another note I could not be more proud of our ladies, I love the style of play and determination and I am already looking forward to next season! Clearly Coach Rigby is the type of coach we want to keep around for a long time!

Unfortunately referees are going to suck no matter what body we belong to. Bad calls. Bad calls. But we fight on. Coach R will use this to only get better. She has to be fielding calls from the big boys. Don’t care what offense she runs, everyone loves a winner. And Coach R is a winner. Could be an opportunity for her to add some zeros to the bank account. Chance we lose her.

Leaves too much room for subjective interpretation. Hope your wrong about all those $0,000,000.00.

Could be an opportunity for her to add some zeros to the bank account. Chance we lose her. I wonder what her salary is at Troy? I'm guessing between $75,000 and $95,000. I know one thing for certain... Rigby loves being in the South. It's home to her. And she loves Troy and the people here. I can only hope that there is some way we can give her and the staff a raise of some sort. Her contract likely contains incentive deals, so she probably cashed out big on quite a few of those this season.
If she were to leave, which I would be sad to see... I don't foresee her going to a school outside of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. So I think that cuts out many P5 schools and Big East schools. The only big southern schools I think that have an opening are Auburn and Memphis, and Florida and LSU could have an opening.

She coached in Kansas at Tabor once, but came back quickly to Mississippi.

I'm hoping she stays. She has the facility, she has built a program that could be something special. Maybe she wants to build a woman's Gonzaga type program. You can't tell me that a Kentucky or North Carolina couldn't tell the Gonzaga coach " name your price" he stayed and built a dynasty. We can do it under her if she stays. I really believe that. Why can't we get a men's program is the big question. Really hoping that Fross can build one. Next year will tell. If our women's seniors return 2022 could be magical

I just saw a piece on ESPN where they were asking if Troy deserved to beat A&M. The only focused on the over and back! The charging call was ridiculous and then the next foul at the defensive end was a joke as well!

I had the same feeling I had after the Clemson game. It's never OK to lose, and moral victories suck, but the truth shall set you free. I know in my heart that we beat Clemson in 2016 and I know in my heart we beat Texas A&M in 2021. In the days that followed the Clemson game and in the days that will follow this one, have comfort that our team is on the right track. Ignore any thought that it could be derailed by an alleged adulterer.

I just want to take a second here and say that I knew Troy was better than a 15 seed! When the announcers are going “Whoa there Sputnik , that was a bad call in the last couple minutes three times it does lend fodder to the “stolen victory theorists.
