The next Gardner Minshew... Hopefully so for him!! We didn’t get a chance to see what he could do for us. His bio looks pretty impressive. My wife is a Tech alumni so we will be watching the games and rooting for his success.

Good for him.
He'll have a tough battle trying to get the starting spot. They already have two QB's that have been in the system and have seen quite a bit of playing time.

Maybe so, but I’m glad to see him have a shot. I thought that one of their QB’s went in the portal. They have a new OC, so they should all be on level playing field learning the offense. Competition for a spot is never a bad thing. I want to see him do well but I really want great things for the program.

Why ? because he will be a third stringer at a mediocre and perpetual .500 team

Why ? because he will be a third stringer at a mediocre and perpetual .500 team I’m a Trojan from way back but we were a .455 team last year. The QB position was definitely a weakness. He had no opportunity to play here so I’m glad he has a chance to earn a spot on their team, regardless of where he is on the depth chart. My wife is a Tech alumni so we follow Big 12 football also. I guess because I’m a parent and educator, I want the best for all kids.

We all want the best for the kid. But your attempted underwipe at HCCL fell flat. Again just because he is on the roster doesn’t mean Troy missed on the kid. HCCL has buckets of overloading items already on the docket that we can deservedly pound on him for, this one is not one.

I can see how it could interpreted like that but it wasn’t my intent. I am a retired HS football coach and I was a QB so when reading his bio on the link and seeing that he only had 3 plays at Troy, the entire season, with our QB 1 out a few games and losing record, I would have liked to see what he could do. I would also like to have seen what Toole could do. I am excited to have Powell in the mix this year. If we can’t move the ball this year and actually score, more than defense in some games, then I hope he gives other very capable kids a chance to play.

It's boom or bust for him.

I hope that he is able to turn it around this year. For the sake of the team, himself and all the supporters.

He demolished the program after it had been so carefully rebuilt. Would prefer a strong year for the players, though. I also think he slept on McNeil. At the very least he couldn't have been worse than Free. The QB development has just been lackluster, which surprised me because I do credit Lindsey with being a good QB coach.

Our "QB WHISPERER" must whisper so quiet no one can hear him.
