It is now a political disease. Once that happens the facts are manipulated to suit agendas.
Lead story on my Yahoo feed (at One time today) was Romania with ICU’s filled. It is simple math and can be played where ever there is not the following in countries or states/provinces: 1) lots and lots of testing (about 4% of your population per week) the end point will be around 14,000-15,000 per hundred thousand. Those guys will have about 3x that that are unknown. Thus 45,000 per hundred K population suspected having been infected and unknown. THEN when reaches 20% of population vaccinated then that is around 80% of population. 2) testing average (about 3% of population) then there will be about 4x the number that are infected and unknown. With around 12,000 per hundred K x 4 brings that number to 48k and then the 20% vaccinated that brings to 80% 3) low testing ( 2% of population per week) then around 10,000 per hundred K x 5 times equal to 50 and 10 and the added 20% that comes to 80%
The simple math is if you have 5,000 per hundred thousand population of known infections and you are testing average and then only 10% of population vaccinated you are then way behind the curve. Even if having 5 x your known for these folks it comes to 40%. They just don’t have 6 weeks in the middle of a surge to slow it down.
Look for this 10,000 per 100k in your community and approaching 20% vaccinated you are good. Half of that like Europe you have problems.
Politics has ruined everything but you can take this to the bank on why stuff happening as it is currently.
