expected us to be better at this point - still happy with progress - we are competing - and effort is there - one more good class to add depth and I think Coach Cross will win SBC next year

We ARE better. I should clarify, I expected better results thus far. While that (expected better results) may be seen as a Debbie downer comment, we are progressing, getting better and trending in the right direction.

I don't want to make excuses, I just want to properly analyze what happened @ GATA. I remember reading a post (Tweet maybe) that said TROY lost in OT, Down 6 scholarship players due to injury. If you are missing 6 scholarship players on a basketball team, you're in deep trouble, I don't care who you are, how good you are, or what direction your program is trending. That they went into overtime crippled in this manner tells me all I need to know about Cross and this team.

We were down 6 players. The best player, Nick Stampley, hardly played because he got injured. Jakevan Leftridge (key player) has been out for a few games now with an injury. Duke Miles (a starter) was out. And then Antwan Burnett and Miles Mendes were out.
Yet we still had chances in both games to beat Georgia Southern. That's improvement despite the loss.

Still a long way to go. Just got to find our groove.

Why do we have so many injuries? Kind of unusual early in the season

Good post for those who can't witness first hand.
