Well look on the bright side. By going to Aublow he would definitely be hirable back here. It seems to be the number one thing we look for I. A resume

A resume If he can hurry up and become OC there he will be our next HC Can't blame him for going. Big step in pay and resume and avoids the life raft next season

Rats jump off of sinking ships. Rats is probably not the term you want to imply...we are losing a very good one here. I understand the money is different, but this may be more of a reflection of the state of our program. We are not out just an OLine Coach, a WR Coach and an OC, we are out of guys that understood our culture and winning ways. 2021 is shaping up to be a disaster and it'll have ripple effects for many years afterwards. Who is coming here now? Sure it's just a game, but look at the devastating effect a poor program has on ULM. There is no pride. No enthusiasm. This sits squarely on Dear Leaders shoulders. And to think, just three years ago about 5,000 of us witnessed the epicness in Red Stick. We will be lucky to draw 5,000 by the end of the season. Ho is out.

Poor choice of phrases of my part. More of the fact of knowing when to jump off the sinking ship before it takes you down with it.

Get real from Corn's perspective. ANY of us would jump for 4 X the money in $EC. Best of luck to Corn!! I trust we'll be OK at WR next year, more pressing needs at other Position coaches.

A coach's life is about building a resume. I worked under so and so. We only hire Blakeney legacy and Gump was on a Da Baar legacy hires for a long time. Maybe working under Harsin is worth something. He did kick our arse two in a row... and that was when we fielded the best FBS teams in our history.

Corn ain't jumping into da water. He jumping to da $EC! Great move for Cornelius and his fam. Let’s be real. He would have made the same move a couple of years when Neal Brown was the coach and everything was rolling. This is a career move and the money is so much more. Everyone here would have done the same thing. Agree with Corn and Cornhole. Say it again, CL shouldn’t have been hired in the first place, he never endeared himself to local wanna be’s, which wouldn’t be that big a deal if he was winning. But he is losing, not gelling into the community and making somewhat shady personal decisions, causing a pitfall. Now All of this is of his own making. With that as I said/prediction he has to win 10 to be retained. People keep saying that the TEAM is falling apart. The Transfer Portal didn’t light up like Anti-Troystet and others predicted. Kids from Missouri and FSU transferred in. All indications are the kids are IN on next year. Simply put, the staff has decent coaches, CL is not a leader, not a CEO of a DI program and it shows. Not sure he has that ability. Now I would love to see Troy win 10 next year, because it’s my beloved Trojans. Always want to see them win. ( as a side it would be pure entertainment to see all these negative nancies go ape sh*t on this board if we did)

But would he have left if he had been promoted to OC with a pay raise? Where is our AD? Very little coming out of our athletic department.

But would he have left if he had been promoted to OC with a pay raise? Where is our AD? Very little coming out of our athletic department. Would he have made $400,000 per year as the OC at Troy? Very unlikely. That's what Cornelius Williams is about to get paid just to be a WR coach at Auburn. To compare, he was making $80,000 per year at Troy as WR coach. Vic Koenning was the highest paid DC in the Sun Belt before he left, and he was only making $250,000 per year. Makes all the sense in the world to take a humongous pay raise at an SEC school. Makes no sense to become an OC at Troy, and not even be calling the plays. That won't get you anywhere. That was Rhett Lashlee's problem at Auburn... everyone knew he didn't call the plays, so his career trajectory went flat... and he wound up taking the same position at UConn.
