Still, McClain said he told his top Troy deputies to âfind something negative about (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of).â âIt never happened. Not once,â McClain said. âThat is hard to do in this industry.â (The HC we don’t speak of) volunteered there was one person that McClain must not have consulted. âIâm really glad Jeremy didnât call my wife,â (The HC we don’t speak of) said with Cecily sitting front and center, and laughing. âShe probably had a few things.â

7 jobs in 8 years, fired from his last one and the only job he could get was KANSAS. Yep, nothing negative at all

Since you brought it up. What CL did was post his divorce to his wife. As you know, CL and his wife are divorced. It takes two to tango. Mistakes on their relationship were not exclusive to one party. So technically at the time of this interview it was still good.

The disdain for (The HC we don’t speak of) is strong in here.
Have a glass half full attitude, and see what happens in his third year.

Again, CL was nobody’s choice to lead our program. I would have let him go after this PR nightmare. Technically, his “sins” not illegal but just scummy. But the kings have spoken, let’s move on and cheer for our team to win !

(The HC we don’t speak of) also just had another well-respected player, Kyle Nixon, declare he's coming back for one more season.
Nixon was a Neal Brown recruit.
A coaching staff made up of poor coaches with a poor culture don't have high-character guys like Dylan Bradshaw, Kyle Nixon, BJ Smith, and Reggie Todd decide to come back. Again, all of those guys could transfer elsewhere pretty easily, even to a P5 school. But they chose to stay. It says A LOT.

I think you overestimate their ability to transfer somewhere meaningful. And they may just like Troy or their position coaches. There's more to their college experience than just football with a bad head coach. Regardless, good players can only accomplish so much without good coaches or good leadership. (The HC we don’t speak of) is neither a good coach nor a good leader, given his current record. Hopefully year three will be better and he can pretend he rebuilt the program after he destroyed it.

âI want to build on this championship culture that has been established, and weâre going to do that,â (The HC we don’t speak of) said.
âWe want to be the premier Group of 5 program in the country. We want to play in a New Yearâs bowl game.â
(The HC we don’t speak of), originally from the Huntsville suburbs and âreally just a high school football coach at heart,â said the Trojans will continue to focus their recruiting on the state of Alabama.
Except for 2010, he was a high school coach from 1997-2012, all but two years in Alabama.
This is more of what I was aiming for, but yes, he does have his off the field issues.

I don't believe I'm overestimating anything. There are different reasons a player can choose to stay. But these 4 guys could easily have decided to call it a day and move on with life. Reggie Todd could have easily declared for the NFL Draft, just like Khalil McClain did. There is a strong reason they are choosing otherwise, deciding to go through one more year of hard work again just to play one more season.
You don't make that kind of decision just because you like Troy, or you like your position coach... and you don't make that decision if you don't have confidence in the entire coaching staff and the rest of the team.

Yes, none of that happened. Why he shouldnât have even been considered. But obviously you didnât expect him to say: âI am ill prepared to take over a program of this size, canât really expect to handle the pressure and organization of the program, my personal life probably will end resembling the back end of a chicken plant but what the hell, the money is goodâ

The real question is how many losses next season to see (The HC we don’t speak of) let go?

The real question is how many losses next season to see (The HC we don’t speak of) let go? 8 or less - contract is not renewed. 9 wins - major discussions. 10 or more - no doubt, new 3 year contract. Low, low buyout.

We will know by week two how good we are going to be! Hopefully we are able to defend the wall and beat Liberty and carry that momentum through the rest of the season! I am hoping to be proven wrong about (The HC we don’t speak of) and his coaching ability , so I am really looking forward to week 2

I just looked at our 2021 schedule and it is full of killers. The SunBelt is becoming one of the toughest football conferences and they are doing it without us. Time's up Uncle Fester.
