Scott Cross - hopefully this is his turning point after some great recruiting classes.
Chanda Rigby - ready to see the ladies make another run to the dance!

Very excited. I'm always excited to watch the women's team. Rigby has created a consistent program. She's amazing.
Excited to see all this talent that Cross has brought in. He's just in his second year at Troy, and he just brought in the best recruiting class in history. I think the men's team is going to be impressive with their talent.
I'm just wondering if the men's team will need another year to get everything going. This is a very young class, with only 2 seniors, 4 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 8 freshmen. This team could be something unbelievably special in a couple of years.

I expect the men's team to be greatly improved but very young so it will be interesting. Cross inheirited a dumpster fire to say the least. The girls got robbed of the best season yet so I expect them to take right up where they left off. Pretty sad when you are tired of football season five games in and I don't even like basketball

I'm wondering what our non-conference schedule will look like? I scouted other teams schedules online, and it looks like the women's basketball team is playing @ MTSU on December 17. Besides that, I haven't found anything.
The season starts November 25, and teams can only schedule 23 regular season games this year. We've got 17 games scheduled if you include the MTSU game. So I assume we'd schedule at least 4 more OOC games.

Probably some teams are holding back because of covid. Will be interesting

I'd like to know how the heck we've been able to keep Chanda Rigby as head coach this long. It's been amazing to have her.
I'd also like to know how the heck we've been able to hold on to asst coaches Jennifer Graf, Courtney Simmons, and Neil Harrow. I feel like any of those three could be a successful head coach at some point.
We're fortunate to have all of them, and I hope they all are getting paid very well for the tremendous job they've done.

I've heard that some of the P5 schools are not fans of her style of play because it relies to much on low percentage shots (similar to the Paul Westfield system). Don't know if that is true or maybe she likes it at Troy

It is a bit of shelter skelter at times but effective in and of itself. She has done well and the women’s program will only get better with better talent on the team

So we are a basketball school now. Ok. Are we doing any kind of Midnight Madness? Forgive me as I only played driveway basketball growing up.

Yeah, I'm ready. We need something good after football and before what baseball is probably going to wind up being. Before what baseball winds up being? Are you saying you expect them to be good, or bad? Fair question. Put it this way, I think the baseball program may need a "culture change."

I don't know anything about that, so I'll leave it alone. What I do know is we get all of the starters back (except in the pitching rotation), which could help give us a great season.

I hope they found a way to teach all of those starters how to field the ball at a collegiate level. But this is a basketball thread. And yes! I'm looking forward to seeing what Coach Cross can do this year.

I am hopeful that Coach Cross can finally get the UAB monkey off our back. Having never beaten our rival in a sport is unacceptable. This is the year! We did beat them, two years ago

I stand corrected. I thought we were still winless against them. I knew we came close last year.
