I'm posting this here because I know this board is monitored by the athletic department, probably by several members of the athletic department. I want to make sure it is heard, I don't want to call the athletic department and have an under grad work study student take the call while texting their buddy.
It is past time that game day procedures should include the enforcement of seating based on ticket held. Today I saw 3 different groups of people move repeatedly from one seat in our section to another, when the ticket holder for the seat they were occupying arrived. While two of the groups were composed of a mix of adults and kids or a group of young adults, one of the groups was composed of 3-4 young people that looked to be about 15 years old. This group argued with the proper ticket holder and would not leave until the ticket holder started walking off to get some help from stadium personnel.
This didn't occur in a general admission section (although all seats are assigned this year), it occurred in an area the requires a contribution to the Trojan Warrior Club as part of the seat purchase. There is absolutely NO reason that a season ticket holder who pays a premium should have to deal with trying to get a seat squatter removed from their seat. This is an ongoing problem and is usually resolved fairly simply (though it shouldn't be necessary to resolve it all) but for a long time season ticket holder to have to have stadium personnel intervene in a situation like this reeks of poor game day management, at best, and unacceptable apathy on the part of the athletic department at worst. Fix it.

We arrived in the stadium about 50 minutes before the start of the game and had to explain to people they were in our seats and it was a season ticket holders section. The response I received was, “where is your last seat?” They then proceeded to just move to the seat next to our last seat ... no social spacing and only one of them was masked 🤦♂️ The season ticket holders that should have been there were unable to make today’s game due to the weather at their home.
Did not see any stadium staff around our section so I do not know if they are not being used this year or what. No need to complain today due to the ticket holders not coming, but I could tell there were numerous squatters due to the lack of spacing 😞

It was particularly bad today.
Who needs to buy reserved season tickets when you can just buy general admission season tickets and sit wherever you want?

I don’t usually get too upset about this. If someone wants to buy a general admission ticket and sit in the reserved section, that’s on them. They’re the ones taking something for which they didn’t pay (yeah, I said it, they STOLE the experience upgrade). When a rightful ticket holder has to argue with people and leave their area to get assistance over a seat dispute after showing they have the right ticket, then it’s time to say something.

This is very easily addressed and should be 100% priority in this day and time. With decreased capacity there should be a agent at every Reserved seat entrance. No one enters without a ticket stub...Period. Go get a beer or bathroom you still show it.

The only stadium personnel I saw were the ticket takers and the 2 guys monitoring the stadium club. Typically the outsourced stadium personnel are as useless as they could possibly be. I've seent them allow none ticketed people to sit in our reserved section, pretty pathetic. Goes back to the accurate saying "it's hard to find good help." One year dude working our section decided to check every ticket holder for correct seats late in the 3rd quarter. I was aggravated since I've been in that same seat for 17 years, but whatever. I dug around for our 4 tickets, showed my proof and he headed back to his rail to lean on so I got his attention and asked why he failed to check the squatters who were sitting below me. He got an attitude and looked at their GA tickets which we knew were not reserved and carried on like they were supposed to be there.
As for Saturday though, we had no issues and everything was perfect for us. Hate to hear there were problems in other sections.

There was a small group about 30 feet to my left and about 5 rows down that did look somewhat suspicious. I was looking for some clue as to their legitimacy. If anyone could help me I would much appreciate it. They were sitting down in the front row of our section. They really looked quite shady.......Har Har har

Let me also throw in, from the University's standpoint, I'm positive there are not many event management groups in the greater Pike County area. In face a couple seasons ago, the company who had the contract went out of business within days of our home opener and they had to scrammble to find warm bodies. It's tough gig that needs to have better management and employees, but only so much Troy can do about it.
