Norm is back: Chance of covid cancellation: 25% Chance of rain 45% Chance of Troy victory 65% Chance of Norm being wrong on one of these 85% The 10th is Hurricane Michael’s 2nd anniversary and Norm is still quite skidish. However, he had one more prediction and that is that the crowd of 9,878 people will be ....95%.... as loud as the usual crowd.

That last one has potential to actually be correct. I am sure there are numerous other examples but a few years ago at Southern Miss there was maybe 1200 of us and perhaps it was the humidity of the evening but we were loud and helped the team tremendously. Plus after game all of us were spent. Then LSU 3 years ago. I am not sure how many of us were there but 2500-3500??? But again, we were loud. My point (and Norm’s) is that a crowd of even 7500 could really make some noise. When it is close or early I too hope we will support our guys like those two evenings mentioned. They could use it and they do feed off it.

I predict the Possum and his future Mrs. will be the first to the tailgate area.
The Armadillos are much improved and we’ll have to be on our A game to get the W.

Now predicting 80% chance of rain. Oh I will be there but most of 20/20 has been real real fun. We can still have a great time but somehow it is fitting to have a light rain the whole game this year

Just a quick note: I posted this image as active link to the NHC. Therefore, the image will continue to update (my original post showed the 8 AM advisory. As you can see, it has already changed). You will likely see updates here via this image before any reports from your local news.

My wish list for this weekend. 1) That this storm is not a bad one 2) That the storm does not come to our eastern pan handle (sorry about that one but we are and remain traumatized by Michael) 3) That flooding and damage is minimal along with power outages (all of these suck) 4) That the game gets played 5) That it gets played without a torrential downpour 6) This could be # 4-6 that Troy wins 7) The rain is not bad enough that my wife will attend the game with me. Actually even the last one is really much higher because I like her!

Sorry Delta, Panhandle is closed. Moose out front shoulda told ya. - Pensacola still hasn't picked up all of the debris blocking the roads/streets from Sally.
- Power lines are still down in some areas.
- Tarps on 60% of roofs near Perdido Key.
- Boats still capsized in local marinas with many still missing.
- We have 20+ large construction barges beached all over Pensacola Bay.
- FEMA just showed up over the weekend for individual assistance.
- I had to watch the MUTS game on my cell (loss of power/internet).
If the west side of Pensacola/Perdido Key takes another direct hit, it will be an absolute mess. The surf will be epic, but at this point I don't even care. A LOT of rain and wind so the ball stays on the ground. Passing/kicking game will not be a factor.
TROY 34 Bobcats 14 Surf Report:The wind is offshore at 7 mph out of the NNE causing semi-clean conditions on the water. The surf is small, shin to knee high lines breaking right offshore. There is more surf forecasted for the end of this week (but I don't even care).

Looking at projections from National Hurricane center. I wonder if this won’t be played Friday afternoon? I have no info but sure if the covid does not get the game that tropical storm conditions possible with very likely heavy rain Saturday does not make that a possibility. Hemi told me that Charles Henderson home Friday nite. Just feel there is that chance. Total conjecture on NORM’s part. But I told him I would post it. He got this way ever since reading about Hemi’s waterproof loin cloth was ready to go.

Friday evening would be nice Or Sunday Anybody know when we can expect an official announcement? I just got word that as of right now, Troy does not foresee having to shift the game, but the athletic department is being updated regularly about the storm and its track/potential impact.
I just don't know how this doesn't get moved unless the storm strength and timing predictions wind up being significantly different. But currently, they think it will be a major hurricane.

Storm track seems to keep moving ever so slightly to the WEST - northwest. I guess Delta heard that the Florida Panhandle was CLOSED! IF it continues that westward movement, I would anticipate we are good to play on Saturday.
Probably will know more once we see the location it enters the gulf after going over the Yucatán Peninsula tomorrow. Fingers crossed that we get little wind and rain we can deal with.

But you also have to think about Texas State's travel logistics.
