So what’s the story on why this guy isn’t further up the depth chart? I was surprised to see him listed last at RB.
CCL mentioned him at the end of summer camp. He said he was a great runner, but the other aspects of being a running back needed work. He said his blocking, route running, and catching has to improve before he would be a consistent threat.
"It's not OK to lose. It's NEVER OK to lose". FORMER Coach Neal Brown
From looking at video of him in high school and then at Texas A&M, he just needs more development. He's got raw talent that needs to be cooked up.
But the dude has talent and great size. If he can work on all those skills previously mentioned, he can be an NFL draft pick.
Absolutely. I saw him at Spring game last year. When he ran the ball, he was unlike anything I’ve seen at TROY. He has the speed of some of our smaller backs and the size and strength I have not seen at TROY in the 25 years I’ve been following. If he can’t block, run a route, or catch though, it’s all for naught. He can’t be used as a running back if, every time he takes the field, the defense knows he’s getting the ball because he can’t do other things.
