What popped out of the article to me, "Conference USA, which stretches from El Paso, Texas, to Norfolk, Virginia, appears more outdated by the day. The Sun Belt is a little more compact, but it’s still over 1,200 miles from Texas State in San Marcos, Texas, to Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina."
Over the past year or two I have felt that the Sun Belt is the stronger conference IF and when realignment raises its head again. I would love to entice Southern Miss with the possibility of a lower travel budget and a yearly match with some Sun Belt teams.

Closer and more Old Fashion Hate!

Closer and more Old Fashion Hate! DEFINITELY need those two programs back! They both owe us something ... one the Palladium Trophy and the other one two yards they stole. I think the theft will be handled much more severely ... court date set for September 23, 2028, 18 years after the crime!

I know it’s the musings of a CUSA writer, but this just sounds like the weaker conference wants to cut into the Sun Belt’s better positioning — if it were to happen. Personally I have no interest in this happening. The teams in the Sun Belt want to be in the Sun Belt except App fans, who seem to think that a top-25 football team coupled with mediocrity everywhere else warrants a “better” conference.

I recall a day in Troy, after winning numerous Sunbelt Conference Championships, that many TroyFans felt the 'Belt wasn't good enough.

And that was before basketball fell off the planet, too.
