Scott Cross just got a commitment from possibly the highest-rated recruit Troy has ever had.
SG Antwan Burnett, a 4-star recruit per ESPN. Had offers from Auburn, Tennessee, USF, San Francisco, and USA. He's ranked the #29 shooting guard in the nation, and #2 in Alabama.
He also plays WR in football, where he's gotten some jaw-dropping offers from Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Ole Miss.
Scott Cross is absolutely KILLING IT! If Burnett signs with Troy, then we would've signed:
Antwan Burnett - 4-star recruit Duke Miles - Alabama 7A Player of the Year finalist Kam Woods - Alabama 6A Player of the Year

Kudos to HCSC and staff. Gotta have some hosses to pull the wagon!! We've had (pot) smokin' ponies but this appears a huge step.

HOPING that scheduling falls into place where we have numerous weekends with BOTH the men and women in Troy on the same weekend. Makes for more opportunities (and ticket sales) for Trojan Nation outside of The Wiregrass to travel, stay, and see BOTH teams play. It seems in recent years that the conference has put one team on the road and one at home against conference foes on the same date (I would have to go back and verify, but it seemed that way A LOT). NOT sure what caused that decision. My undergrad school when I was there only had a men's program. My grad school had both and I remember both teams being on one bus separated by the staff sitting in the middle

The Sunbelt Conference AD's voted AGAIN to extend the crappish Home & Away scheduling for men's and Women's Basketball. I understand that the Troy AD was the ONLY vote against the extension. Perhaps Aprende can elaborate??

That was a Sun Belt decision not ours. Even Dr. Jack tried to appeal it, but the SBC wouldn't cave.

I don't know what the reason for the split schedule but as far as I can see, It makes no sense. I can't believe the ADs think having the split schedule increases the bottom line. Even if there is an increase in ticket sales (and that's not likely the case at TROY, because season ticket purchase includes both men's and women's tickets) given the low attendance across the conference for women's games, the increased operational expense to open and operate the arenas on two separate occasions would have to offset any additional revenue. I'm willing to listen to numbers that say I'm wrong and I'm willing to listen to any other explanation that may be offered, but until someone provides either of those, the decision appears to be as dumb as a football bat.
