I don't think the picture uploaded? Maybe a descriptor of what was happening simply was an empty white box. Then that truly is a bad look

IF I received an empty white box or an invisble picture, I'd be ticked too.

Likely more coloring books, all in white crayon.

IMO this is not a good look for the department.
If real, terrible look. But unfortunately, could be very real representation of someone’s current level. Did you receive in a Troy University envelope ? If real, A. people need to be fired. B. Not surprising as our Athletic Admin has been behind the times. A lot good individual people in the department but never innovative, forward-thinking or cutting edge. Has a real country bumpkin attitude.

Has a real country bumpkin attitude. It was in the same ole official envelope as always. I figured if there was an initiative to include the local elementary children then that would have been pointed out but it was not.
Last year this came from Gary and it was very well done.

Fast forward through 2, now 3 ADs, staff changes, coaching changes, millions of $$ spent on sharp "cutting edge" facilities, emphasis on nutrition and conditioning, focus on marketing and events programming, expanded ticket staffing, creation of Athletic Hall of Fame, increased student involvement at events, outreach to Alumni and regional markets with Trojan Tours etc., better use of Social Media and publicity opportunities. Not sure where you've been lately???
There's always room for improvement but... ...6 years ago? Coaches and staff dining at Sisters, aw shucksing "It's only a money game" excuses, multi-sport lame recruiting efforts, now THOSE days was a real country-bumpkin attitude. IMO, we've come a long way from those days. Just not sure about coloring books for kids though. It must be darn slow around athletics these days...

The educator in me thought it was from one of our student-athletes. The Athletic Department trying to give the students something to do while in quarantine that offered a personal touch.
It did not bother or shock me! Personally I would have liked the individual to have signed their name as a way to make the personal connection. Kind of like when they make the telephone calls every year, the student-athlete states their name.

That looks like it could be from a student-athlete with less than stellar handwriting or more likely, Brent, Adam, Coach Cross, Coach (The HC we don’t speak of) and several others have elementary school age kids. It could've simply been a way to get their kids involved.

Hindsight I probably should not have put it out for the world to see. Might remove the attachment. Maybe I am just being a baby over being stuck at home. IMO getting kids involved is awesome and much needed but in this case just run the thing through a printer. This years TWF promoting has been lackluster and basically emails stating "You have X days left to renew". No matter how you slice it these things are asking for money and that probably needs to be done with a more professional approach.

Its about what I would expect. When was the last time penmanship was taught in schools. Kids use a keyboard/smartphone to communicate. Its a nice touch but in this day and age might have sent an individual text.

I've actually enjoyed them putting out these Throwback games. It's been fun to see some of highlights from those games that haven't really existed on YouTube to watch... especially Troy vs. Mizzou and Troy vs. MTSU.
I'm really hoping they put out some more games also, especially these:
Troy vs. Oklahoma State in (2007) Troy vs. Navy (2012) New Orleans Bowl (2010) Troy vs. UAB (2010) New Orleans Bowl (2006) Troy vs. Marshall (2003 and/or 2004) Troy vs. Mississippi State (2001)
Some more old-school highlights of games from the 90's/80's/70's would be excellent as well.

You may knock it but the hand written note shows a lot of care and class. It's more personal than the same paragraph ran over and over through a copy machine and mailed out. I wouldn't knock the hand writing either because since every one is home I can image the child of someone with Troy Athletic sat down and helped hand write an untold number of personal notes. So bravo to Troy.

Because once some other programs creates and starts to do something, they do copy and start doing that item. Heck, wasn’t someone just commenting on this board about how they saw other programs coaches doing stuff on line, staying connected and poof, Troy Athletics starts doing that and posts it a couple days after the post on the board.....

I saw where West Virginia is starting a reading thing with Neal ... I guess Troy somehow copied that too.

I got one, but it was much more legible than yours. I think mine was actually signed with a name, though. Not sure where it is at the moment.

I received one as well. It's a little better handwriting than that, but not much. I immediately assumed it was done by a student and just appreciated the gesture.
