Has anyone done the math on us being still in it? We have 3 SBC games left and one is head to head with App at home. Does App have to lose one in addition to us? I realistically see two possible losses to Georgia State with them having App and Southern left. I haven't quite figured it out, but it seems like through this roller coaster of a season, there still might be a shot?

GaSt 3-2 needs to lose 2 SBC games bc they hold the tie breaker over TROY. GaSo 3-2 needs to lose 1 SBC game because TROY holds the tie breaker. TROY 2-3 needs to win out and hope for all of the above to happen.

Stranger things have happened. However, not many.

Is this really being talked about?
By the way, not sharing what you're smoking is impolite.

Is this really being talked about? By the way, not sharing what you're smoking is impolite. Why not? If we still have a chance then we still have a chance. There are quite a few fans who think we are getting better. Maybe they are right. This season has been tough and maybe our team is tough as well. I’ve realized that moaning has gotten me nowhere this season so I’m going to sit back and relax and pull for wins.

It's an oblong ball, bounces wherever, played by 18 + year old teenagers, on weekends with unpredictable weather. Bummer being, we don't control our fate. All these other scenarios are out of our hands. So, sit back, relax, smoke, sip, and enjoy the Sound of the South!! It's college football!!

When I get home I'm going to get smashed and come up with a series of ridiculous events that could make me the president of Myanmar, and no one had better doubt it.

The only realistic chance of App State losing another game is against Georgia State, and that chance probably just went down the drain... GSU's QB Dan Ellington, who accounts for about 70% of their offensive production, looks like he might be out for the year with an injury.
There's no way GSU beats App State without Ellington.

App is not losing to Texas State. Yes a series of comets may hit the same location three times in a month but the likelihood is not good. Let’s win them both and yes that will require two of our best games this year.

5 teams in Sun Belt currently Bowl Eligible including three from the East. App is a given, Ga Southern is a given and Ga St will be because they have wins over us and Tennessee. Ark St and La La in the west. Even if we get to 6-6 it will be interesting if we go to a bowl. Remember in 2013 we went 6-6 and stayed home

But there was less bowl tie ins then.

Do the tie breakers only apply in regards to New Orleans? Once you are past the championship game - if you're bowl eligible does it then matter who beat who?

I have heard through a source that the Montgomery Bowl would love to have a Troy vs UAB match up, but that even at 6-6 Mobile still is interested in having Troy in their bowl game.

If App turns down New Orleans or La La beats them in the Championship and takes NO then App could take Mobile which would leave us Montgomery if Georgia Southern or Ga St doesn't have a claim to it. Not sure how these Bowl tie in work with a team that could have a better record than you?

From my understanding of the tie ins with the SBC is that the SBC Champion can choose New Orleans, but after that the Bowls Choose which Sunbelt teams they want. It is also my understanding that that Mobile gets to pick their SBC team before Montgomery, but not sure how the picking order is. Even though their are tie ins, it is also my understanding that bowls can negotiate for another team from another conference to represent in their bowl, ie-UAB in the Montgomery Bowl instead of a MAC team which has the tie in with Montgomery. I just hope Troy can pull off a win this Sat and make it even possible to be in the bowl game conversation.
