Look man. Some people say cucumbers taste better pickled.
Lets question fandom of people we know and have cheered the boys on with. DT still showed the same love (Monetarily) this year after a hire he didn't like too.
(The HC we don’t speak of) could go 14-0 and I still wouldn't like his demeanor. But, I would damn sure support him as Troys HC. Its June. Folks need to chill.
If he goes 14-0 we will be complaining or happy for the next head coach. That's a fact! Id still take a one and done though. He wouldn't be the first coach to hit it and forget it.

The transfer portal, initiated last fall, has as much, if not more impact on what we are experiencing . take a look at articles on WVA MetroNews and see what’s happening there. Exactly my friend. The portal with the coaching change makes this the new norm for coaching changes till the portal cools some. Was worried about the portal too, but seems we aren’t the only one dealing with these issues. ESPN article on two year starter at Neal’s new place says he is the 13th player there to enter the portal this year. “Robinson is now the 13th West Virginia player to add his name to the transfer portal since January, according to a source. That list includes receiver Dillon Spalding, offensive lineman Matt Jones and defensive lineman Tyrese Allen.”

Neal had more transfer out of Troy to my knowledge when he arrived four years ago. He turned out to be alright.

Looks like even Vic is having trouble keeping top shelf players. It happens with every coaching change, even if what's coming in is an upgrade.

I will watch their progress but T R O Y!!!!

I mean, Troy football will be 95% of my sports concern in the fall. I will watch a few WVU games though, as I have no hard feelings for Neal and Co., and I believe he will do for WVU what he has done for us.

In six months everything will be clearer. Win 9 or more and you’re in. Win 7 or less and the for sale signs will come out. Don’t sweat players leaving. I’m sure more will disappear from the roster in the next two months for various reasons. Enjoy the ride. I still stand by this post. There’s probably another player or two that will not be there come August. I will not worry about win totals until December.

Quick count of the roster (though I'm not great at "higher math") ... we have 104 showing. Looks like all of our 2019 class is in the fold! Also, a few names I haven't seen/heard. DT Malik Pertee (Ocala), Corner Tye Puncey (Pinson Valley), and what looks like a grad transfer from Southern Miss ... WR Reid Rials? Don't remember hearing their names. As far as state of program, I have the preseason optimism! Won't be able to lean on Defense as much as we did last 3 years, at least not at first. Very talented defense ... but young in places. If they can continue to turn teams over ... then I believe we could have our best Offense in years! So, we might have to outscore folks some! Not good for the heart ... but could be exciting. We will be good enough to win every game. But, we might drop a couple on the road ... if we lose turnover battle. 10 wins at least! Go Trojans

Go Trojans Malik had some decent FBS offers: Toledo, Ohio, Georgia Southern, Bowling Green, Georgia State, and South Alabama. Might not be a star guy, but he's an FBS caliber player most likely. n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2019/malik-pertee-191677#school-interestsLooks like Reid was an all state quarterback for Satsuma. Dual threat guy. Does not appear he registered any stats for Southern Miss. He may be a holder for us.

Quick, low center of gravity ... and he caught a TD pass!! Again ... some promising young talent on the D-line!

Rials played at Elba and Satsuma for his dad, Scott.
Scott is the HC at Luverne. The move to Troy is probably to get closer to home for one final season.

LOSER: G-5 PROGRAMS THAT GET POACHED 247sports.com/LongFormArticle/College-football-transfer-portal-winners-losers-Miami-Penn-State-USC-Maryland-133299641/#133299641_9On the opposite end of the spectrum is the premier Group of Five talent that tends to flow up during the offseason. This is more common in basketball, where transferring up is almost expected in the lower tier of D1. We saw more of that creep into football than normal with the advent of the portal. These are some of the G-5 programs that were hit the hardest: Ball State: Three-year starting quarterback Riley Neal transferred to Vanderbilt. Marshall: Ty Tyler, the team’s sack leader in 2018, transferred to Louisville. Bowling Green: Starting QB Jarret Doege transferred to West Virginia. Buffalo: K.J. Osborn (892 yards receiving) transferred to Miami, while TE Tyler Mabry transferred to Maryland. Troy: 2017 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Marcus Jones transferred to Houston, while the team’s starting QB, Sawyer Smith, transferred to Kentucky. Western Michigan: Lost Freshman All-American wide receiver Jayden Reed to Michigan State. Fellow freshman running back Chase Brown also departed.
