Their men's basketball just reached the 20-win plateau for the third-straight year... they're currently 21-8 and tied for 2nd place in the OVC.
All of this success... inside a 45-year-old concrete box that smells just like Sartain Hall did. But Troy can't even get to the Sun Belt Tournament inside a new $40-million arena.

If we are looking for a new coach after this season this is the guy to go get. He is a former WKU coach and knows the SBC well. Obviously can recruit Alabama and win at a small school with lesser facilities than us. Double his pay and bring him in.

Cunningham has one more year left on his contract. Will we buy him out? And what about Ben Fletcher. Ive always liked him.

The students see our men's basketball as a huge joke and don't even attend the games unless they're diehards, or if you give them free crap.
Fletcher is a nice guy, and a Trojan great... but he's a Maestri holdover who is of the run-and-gun philosophy. We need to bring in a new guy that brings in his own assistants. Troy has gone 186-245 since he's been an assistant (not that it's totally his fault, but I think you get the picture). He's only helped to lead Troy to 3 winning seasons in the 14 seasons he's been an assistant at Troy.
As I was typing this, I came to the realization that Troy has only had 4 winning season over the past 16 seasons... depressing...

Wow. That is depressing. And very sad. Troy Men’s record was 30-60 During Don’s last three years.

Sad indeed.
Troy used to be a formidable opponent. This program went to the Elite 8 and even a national championship game in Division II in the 90's.
Then Troy joins the A-Sun, and we start beating solid teams like Georgia State and UCF like a drum... even scored a couple of SEC wins. Troy is considered one of the top mid-major basketball teams between 1999-2004.
And then we joined the Sun Belt, and for some reason the train got de-railed and exploded into this ugly crap we have today. Troy is about to finish dead last in the Sun Belt again for the fourth time in seven seasons.

Laughable that you and ho have a crystal ball into the future of Troy Athletics. I said I hope he is wrong but that is what he did for football and exactly what Hartwell did when he hired PC. My point and until I'm proved wrong is this...I don't feel like this administration is serious about basketball. Rigby was hired by Dennis (2 AD's ago) and she could win if they played in Wright Hall or CHMS gym. IMO only I feel like the Arena was built more for graduations than a commitment to win in basketball. Personally I don't care for basketball but if it's a sport that Troy plays we should put every resource we have and have a commitment to win. I don't care if Troy starts a curling team I want them to be the best curling team they can be.

Well AD does have a history of bringing in people that only have ties to the state of Mississippi. That will come back to bite him in the rear one day. Secondly, Jacksonville State doesn't have the same admission requirements as Troy or any other state school. They can bring in good players that can't qualify here at Troy.

Troy by no stretch of the imagination is hard to get into. The bare minimum NCAA gets you into Troy

But his record up the road speaks for itself and his over all record. We hired (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) who has concerns as well. Larry Blakeney had plenty of baggage when hired.

We weren't aware of Blakeney's heaviest baggage until after he was hired.

From JSU source: the coach does Win ... but many if not most of the guys he brings in have academic and other issues. But, he can/does win! Also, he said they're paying him pretty well ... I think he said in $250-$300K range?

I think he said in $250-$300K range? I’d find it hard to believe they would be paying their Basketball coach The same as they pay the Head Football coach in a football centered school. I want to say I’ve seen his salary in the 175k range.
